  Remodel Works (RW) has dubious suppliers--a foot-long scar on my quartz countertop, a tub faucet that leaked for months, marred hearth tile that was never replaced. Drywallers who could not construct a smooth, symmetrical arch, a plumber whose work fell apart during the remodel, flooding a kitchen under-sink cabinet. Inadequately-trained employees who make costly errors. One designed a double-oven wall cabinet that placed the upper oventhe one with all the special featuresout of my reach, and Im over 58 tall! The project manager, who was committed and effective in most respects, initially refused to replace the unacceptable cabinet, despite the fact that Id paid ********************************************* a total of $33,000 for the purchase and installation of solid maple cabinetry. From RW's legalistic standpoint, Id signed and thus approved a blueprint of the kitchen remodel without calculating the proper height for the oven cabinet myself! RW ultimately agreed to replace the cabinet with an appropriate one, but the delay caused a 3-month project to drag on for an additional 2 months. RW says it provides custom cabinetry; Starmark itself says it makes only semi-custom cabinets. (I called them.) RW is not a general contractor in any meaningful sense. It makes one contract with a homeowner for its work on kitchen and baths, and has its subcontractor make a separate contract with that homeowner for work in other areas. Subcontractor was a no-show because I didn't hire his unqualified friend to install my flooring! I had to spend months dealing with individual specialized contractors to handle things like entry door and sliding closet door replacements, a window replacement, the painting of my houses entire interior and exterior, and hardwood floor and baseboard procurement and installation throughout the house. All of this should have been coordinated by Remodel Works. But the minute I made my first 10% payment, that promise was broken. All in all, it is an utterly unreliable company.

  Our experience with Remodel Works was nothing short of amazing. From the initial meeting with the designer through to the final walk through, the project was seamless. They said it would need 8 weeks to complete and they did it exactly on time. Every person, including all the subcontractors, were master craft persons and I would highly recommend each one. Our project manager, *******************, was responsive to our needs and kept the ************* on time. Our designers, ******************************* and *********************** were right on point in terms of my ****************. They hire incredibly talented subcontractors and Remodel Works own employees were exceptional as well. I will recommend them every chance I can.
