      I paid for my ***** to take the ACT test in 2022. Her high school also registered her for the test, but I was unaware of this registration. i called ACT to receive a refund and they said they do not provide refunds, but they could transfer the funds to a different testing date. I said my ***** does not need to take the test again. They said "Do I have any other *****ren?" and I said "yes" and they said when that ***** was ready to take the test they could transfer the funds to that ***** account. Now it is 8/15/2024 and my second ***** is old enough to take the test. I called to have the test credit transferred to my other ***** and they said they in fact do not do this. AND it is their policy not to issue refunds. I would like my money back or I would like ACT to pay for my other ***** to take their test. If I could have my other ***** take this Monopolized test with someone else, I would, but as ACT is the only provider of this test. When I spoke to the ACT employee "*********" he did show I paid for the test and that the credit was not used. When I spoke to his supervisor "*****" she said their policy was not to transfer the funds or refund the payment. She did show in her system where I had called in 2022, but she would not provide me with the transcript from the call. She said the details showed that I called but was refused a refund and was told I could transfer the funds. She said it did not show I was told it could be transferred to another student, but if I had not been told this I would have filed a dispute with my credit card company at the time for a refund.I am extremely unhappy and feel like ACT has a monopoly so they can charge whatever they want for their test and not provide refunds when the service is not utilized. This is an unfair practice.
