      I am writing to file a complaint against UPLAND DENTAL IMPLANT & ORTHODONTICS OFFICE regarding poor service and unresolved issues. I initially visited the Upland dental implant office to fix an existing dental implant crown issue. DR. *** informed me I had a bone loss and required bone graft and gum graft which I underwent.During my treatment the dentist placed a bone graft and gum graft surgery on 5/ 19, 2023 following my recovery from open heart surgery in Dec. 2022. following surgery, a permanent crown was placed, which I was not informed would happen immediately after the procedure. I was under the impression that a temporary crown would be used until healing was complete. After the procedure, I began experiencing significant issues with the crown, including a large gap between gum and crown, leading to discomfort & a very foul smell. food particles are getting trapped in the gap. When I told the dentist about the gap and foul smell , he dismissed my concerned, he said just used water pick to manage the issue. On 3/24/24, I told DR. *** the problem again, he got upset and told me he no longer wanted to continue treating me, instead he wants me to start orthodontic ***************** charge my ins. *** On 8/22/24,went to different **************** per manager about problem , no help. On sept.10, went to clinic and different dentist per manager, no help. this dentist wants to make the gap bigger to release food particles from inside the crown while using water pick. he wants me to go back to DR. *** because he did the surgery. feel unsafe&uncomfortable returning to DR. *** because of unacceptable behavior by saying he "loves me" and "would help me". and hugging me without my consent. told the clinic manager about DR. ***'S unprofessional behavior. dentists insisted that the issue was due to bone loss, yet refused to correct the improperly fitted crown. I'm seeking full ******************* in finding another provider to correct the issue.

      I went to Upland Dental and Orthodontics on 05/11/2023 to have an exam. My insurance pays for an exam twice a year. Upland Dental completed x-rays. An assistant came in and looked in my mouth and looked at x-rays and stated I had a cavity and needed a deep cleaning. The person who takes payments explained that I would need to pay over 1000.00 almost 2,000.00 to have this work completed. She said they have a company called Sunbit that is a third party that you pay monthly payments towards. She told me to put down money for the services in the future and begin making payments with them. I put down $274.24 to Sunbit. I decided I wanted a second opinion with another dentist. I requested my x-rays and they said they have 30 days to get them to a dentist which they did not explain when I first requested. The new dentist said I do not have a cavity and only need a deep cleaning. I paid for that service for $170.00. I requested the money I paid out because I decided to see the new dentist. I have been told the accountant will return my call. I have contacted them several times and they say they will take my message and return my call. They have not tried to call me back. I have called and asked for the supervisor and she has not called me back and her name is Sylvia and they would not give me her last name. I would like my money back and this company investigated for ethical issues and financial abuse, policies. They don’t have a Hygienist or dentist exam you either. They respond with a policy for the things I’ve asked, which I have not seen in writing. They do not explain any of this in person at your appointment or in writing. They have not given me a date of when I will receive my money. I have also gotten a new atm card because I do not trust that they will stop payment. They have called and texted regarding appointments that I’ve cancelled previously.

      We do not offer Sunbit third party financial services in our office. We also do not have a patient of record with the patients name in our system. There is another dental office nearby with almost the same name as ours. Our name is Upland dental implant and orthodontics. Their name is upland dental group and implant. Many patients often will call them thinking it’s us. Or call us thinking it’s them. They have three stars on Google. We have a five star rating. We believe this patient probably meant to put this complaint towards upland dental group and implant.
