On Dec 22 my 2007 ****** Prius was repoed at 6 am, so I was told by the towing company, and I picked it back up on Wednesday December 28th. When I picked up my car, everything was taken out of it and there was a hole in my dashboard as well as my catalytic converter being missing. Both of these were not an issue, I had my catalytic converter and no issues with my dashboard prior to this, they are saying that they did not do anything to my vehicle.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/11/2023

In response to the complaint from ************************* on 12/28/**, Complaint ID ********. There are two sides to every story one truth and one fabricated lie. We will tell you the truth with facts.  Nor Cal Recovery has been in business since ****. We do business with numerous banks, and we would not jeopardize our business or our business name with such ludicrous allegations **************** has stated we did.
The Debtors vehicle a 2007 ****** Prius was repossessed on 12/23/** for the second time by our company. The first time it was repossessed was 8/**/** and at that time she informed us she just got her car back from the shop replacing the catalytic converter because it had been stolen.
On 12/28/**, the debtor came in and redeemed her vehicle as well as all her personal property. The vehicle was secured/alarmed in our inside garage due to not having a key.  When ****************** got in and started the vehicle, she said my cars catalytic converter was stolen and started crying. Found out from my repo driver when he repossessed the vehicle the doors were not locked. She was so upset because this is her second time having her catalytic converter stolen. I explained the vehicle was secured/alarmed in our garage and we would have no idea that the catalytic converter was stolen as we had no key to the vehicle. She said I know you did not do it. She said her neighbors was stolen off her car a few weeks ago. Her boyfriend stated maybe take it to *********** (a junkyard). I stated you have a lien holder so you will not be able to do that. She was upset but was okay when she left our business. Then about 10 minutes later we were outside and we saw her fly down our street super-fast and came to us yelling and stating that we broke her dash and left an unsmoked rolled-up joint (MJ) in her car. We stated that we/employees do not smoke marijuana. She was filming on her phone and said she was going to get a lawyer. I stated that maybe the person that stole her catalytic converter left it in her car. She said no it was locked. I stated well maybe you left it unlocked or they used tools to get in.
Later that day, ****************** started calling us harassing us and stated we cut her catalytic converter off because it was cut clean, and it would have taken a long time to do that and it was secured in our ********* informed her we have been in business for a very long time, and we do not do anything like that. We told her to call the police. She said see you in court and hung up.
Received a call 12/28/** from Officer ******** from the ************************* ************ and stated that a report had been filed from Debtor ************************* that her Catalytic converter was stolen. She said she informed ************************* that another Prius catalytic converter was stolen in an apt next to her on 12/**/** around 5:30 am, the owner caught them taking his stuff and putting it in their car and left and found out the catalytic converter had been stolen. A case was filed Case #**R082993 and Officer ******** is adding her Prius to that case as it is a second car hit. Officer ******** said they are both Prius and believe they are a related incident. She said it only takes about 2 minutes for thieves to cut a catalytic converter off. We repossessed her car 12/23/** @ 6 am so Officer ******** is thinking it was done at the same time just a day apart.

    Sincerely,
    Nor Cal Recovery
