Subject: Ongoing Billing Discrepancies and Threat of ************************************ Review Complaint Against: Mercy Medical Center Redding Dates of Service: November 21, 2024, and November 29, 2024 Dear Better Business Bureau,I am submitting this complaint concerning Mercy Medical Center Reddings handling of billing for emergency medical services I received on November 21, 2024, and November 29, 2024. Despite ongoing efforts to resolve the matter in good faith, I continue to receive repeated callsincluding as recently as yesterdayand written statements from Mercy Medical Center claiming that I owe thousands of dollars. These communications have escalated to warnings that the accounts are on the verge of being sent to collections. However, I have been informed by my health insurance provider, ******************************************************, that they are actively adjudicating the claims submitted by Mercy for both dates of service. Specifically, for the November 29, 2024 visit, ********** has communicated to me that my patient responsibility is minimal.I have made multiple payments directly to Mercy Medical Center, which have been cashed, and I possess both receipts and check images to confirm these transactions. Yet, none of my payments have been acknowledged in recent written correspondence from Mercy.I respectfully request that Mercy Medical Center:Communicate directly with ********** Blue Shield of ************** to confirm the status of claim adjudication and adjust their records accordingly.Confirm to me in writing that they have discontinued any efforts to send the account to collections while insurance processing is underway.Provide a detailed summary statement of all payments I have made to date and the currently claimed patient responsibility, updated to reflect insurance communications and actual payments received.

********************** Medical Center saw me in the Emergency room in July of 2022. I filled out a financial fee form to waive all the fees for the emergency visit. I was approved. Flash forward to almost 2 years later, I all the sudden have a collections for over $2000 on my credit report. I dont have ANY dings on my credit report and Im right in the middle of looking for a house. There will be no house until this is removed off of my credit report. This is a serious issue and if not resolved within 5 days I will be contacting an attorney. I called the collections agency who informed me what the deal was, so I called the billing Department on 05/30 to resolve everything. Meet medical billing found the error on their part and said it will be fixed within ***** hours. Its now 06/15/24 so a whole 17 days later and absolutely nothing has been done. Called the collection agency and they still havent received anything from ********************** Medical. I called ********************** medical and they told me they forgot to send it over lol IS THIS A JOKE? This is my LIFE, literally my credit report cropped 80 points because of this. Now Im sitting here still waiting almost 3 weeks later for anything to be addressed. This is my last try before I sue ********************** Medical for negligence and punitive damages.

On 1/3/2023 I unfortunately had to go to the ** at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, ** by ambulance. Upon arriving I was asked to sit in the waiting room until they could help me. While I was waiting, and before I was ever seen by a doctor, I was called up to the admitting desk to fill out and sign assorted paperwork. At this time I was told that my portion of the bill would be approximately $402.46 and I was asked how I wanted to pay for this. I reluctantly paid with my credit card. When I received the final bill in February the patient balance due was $565.46. So at this time I paid the difference of $163.00 and mailed it back with a copy of the original receipt showing proof of payment. Then in April I received another bill stating that the balance was now $402.46. At this time I called - 5/16/2023 and was told to FAX proof of payment, which I did. I had not heard another word from them so assumed the matter to be taken care of. Until today, 8/23/2023, I received another bill for the $402.46 and a notice that this is the Final Notice. I tried once again to call & resolve this issue and was told that no payment was ever made and a supervisor would call me in 24 to 48 hours. My goal with bringing this to you is to get Mercy Medical Center Redding - Dignity Health to acknowledge my original payment and to leave me alone! I tried to upload a copy of the bills and the receipt of the credit card payment but was unable to.

On the early morning of sunday august 13th @ 3:00 am, the break nurse ****** refused to administer my pain meds in the proper fashion. I just had surgery the previous morning so my pain level was rather severe. This break nurse went against procedure and supposedly dilutted my meds in a seperate syringe out side of my sight and without my permission. When i questioned her as to why my meds were not as effective as normal. She stated she diluted the dose. I asked why and who gave her the authority to do so and she stated she could administer meds as she felt appropriate. As a result i had to suffer with the pain untill the next dose was scheduled. This nurse did not administer my meds according to the doctors orders nor did she get my permission to stray away from the normal procedure. This is a manner in which pain meds are being stolen from hospitals / patients. The meds should have been prepared in my sight and with my knowledge and consent and administered per doctors orders. I dont believe the nurse brought my pain meds at all. I believe she administered a saline flush and pocketed my pain meds. Again the syringe was prepared out of my sight. And the dose was ineffective, which was completely abnormal.

I went to the Emergency Room on 03/20/2323 for abdominal Pain. They asked if it could be a pregnancy I said no, I'm over 50 and don't ovulate and not to test for one. They did and charged me $336. They also did a CT scan which was way overpriced. A CT scan in the ******************* goes for $6750.00 on the highest end and they charged me $11468.00. That's a $4718.00 overcharge. I tried to go through them to correct it and they said that is correct and could do nothing for me. I'm asking for a refund of $5054.00.
