On 8/26/2024 I tried to register an online QuickBooks training class starting 9/2 Monday. At the time when I clicked on the link provided, I was taken to a site that had only one option that was asking me to sign in my ******** account, which the advertiser, ********************, never mentioned in his commercial. I was trying to register for his 5-day class. But I didn't have a ******** account. If I didn't create a ******** account, obviously I would not be able to register this QuickBooks class. So I thought I would just create a new ******** account against my will however, just to attend this class and later I could close that ******** account. So I registered for the Class for $47 with a new ******** account created. Then, normally with other vendors, I would just receive an e-mail with a link to attend the class. Instead, on 8/27, he sent me an e-mail with a link. When I clicked on that link, I was taken to the original website asking me to register. How many times did I have to register? What about the class that I had already registered for $47 ? I responded to the e-mail asking for a refund. But he said I still could attend with Zoom. If that was the case, why did his link ask me to have to sign in (or create) a ******** account when there was no other option? I tried to explain to him that I had no choice but "had to" use a ******** account that I didn't have but must create one to "register" for his class. He didn't seem to understand that there was no other option available at the site, and still said that I didn't have to have a ******** account.Anyway, I didn't want to get into such an unnecessary mess when his process obviously wasn't well designed whether intentionally or not. So I just want to get a refund and get out of the mess that should not have happened. I wanted him to confirm that he would refund me. But I never heard from him again.

    Name is ***************.

By the way, in the e-mail that you sent me, you didn't provide your last name, either, except just a "G".

So I wonder why you need me to provide you a last name in order for you to process this complaint. It should be up to the filer whether to want to disclose his or her last name or not, isn't it?

I saw an ad on instagram about Booming Bookkeeping Business which talks about becoming a bookkeeper and how they will provide all the training and resources to start your own bookkeeping business. There was a free introduction video, but then you have to pay to start the courses. I wanted to check the course out, so I signed up. There were 2 payment options; you can pay $1997.99 for the year, or you can pay $199.97 a month for 1 year and it claims to give unlimited access to the site and resources. I checked the $197.99 box in hopes that I can check out the course, and then if I decide it's not for me, I can cancel. I paid $197.99 August 30th. I would be charged again September 30th, however, I requested to cancel the subscription since I wouldn't be using it and I decided I didn't want to go in that direction. There is no cancellation policy, or anything that states that there would be any consequences should I decide to cancel. I skimmed through some videos, and decided that the teaching style and the course was not for me. I emailed and asked if I can cancel my subscription, only to be told that I would have to pay a $400 "courtesy" fee if I chose to cancel. I asked why I wasn't informed of the fee, and I was told that I agreed to pay $197 a month for 12 months. I asked over and over if I can just cancel. They aren't losing any money over it, and I should have been told in the beginning that should I choose to cancel, I will be charged a fee. I would like for them to please cancel my subscription. I honestly cannot afford the $197 a month, especially if I am not going to be using it. There is no sense in paying for something if I will never be using it.

    Good afternoon,

I have been contacted by the company that I made the complaint about. They are granting me my request to cancel the subscription without any penalties, so I would like to cancel or close this complaint if possible. If I have any concerns moving forward, I will reach out again. Thank you so much!
