      My wife and I received a Yummly Smart Meat Thermometer with wireless Bluetooth connectivity as a wedding gift just over 2 years ago. The thermometer is a Bluetooth device that is inserted into meat during cooking, and the internal temperature of the meat can be tracked in the Yummly app on a smart phone. This week, we received a message that Yummly intends to shut down its app, thus making the thermometer non-functional, as the temperature cannot be read without use of the app. We contacted Yummly's customer support, and they offered a $30 refund for a device that retails at around $100. We expected this device to be useful for many years to come, and it is in perfect working order at the moment. So we would like a full refund of $100 so that we can buy a replacement that is of similar quality as this product.

      I called Mr. ****** and I left a message to call me back. However, Yummly Meat Probe is handled by Yummly customer service. They have their own policies. Yummly consumers will receive appropriate reimbursement measures based on the purchase date of their product through ************** We cannot alter the resolution made by them.

      I am rejecting this response because: Whirlpool is the parent corp of Yummly, and it appears that Whirlpool has made the decision to shut down the Yummly app, which renders our product obsolete. So if Whirlpool is responsible for ending the useful life of our product, then either Whirlpool or Yummly needs to reimburse us for the replacement cost of that item. It is not sufficient for Whirlpool to claim that Yummly has its own policies when ********* is responsible for Yummly terminating the operation of its app.

      Yummly Meat Probe is handled by Yummly customer service, not Whirlpool. They have their own policies.       I filed this complaint against Yummly, ***** and it seems that BBB submitted the complaint to Yummly's parent corporation, *********. ********* is now saying they have no control over Yummly's policies, so I do not understand why the complaint was submitted to ********* to begin with. Please advise whether this complaint can actually be submitted to Yummly. Thank you.
