    We had been connected to this company for a solar project, and decided we wanted to pull out from the project before it got underway. We had signed pre-approval loan documents as well as the Supply and Installation Agreement with our installer. When we made the decision to pull out from the project, we were informed that we would have to pay back the fees for the permits being purchased as National Clean Energy pays for permits out of pocket. We wondered how they got permits already as we had not authorized the project to move forward, and we were told that there was a 3-day, automatic consent and approval policy in place that we were not told about verbally. In the contract with Freedom Forever (the installer), there is a three day cancellation clause, however, the language used states that it is three days after receiving a signed agreement. We were asked to sign a change order, and this was not signed but the project moved forward anyways. We are now on the hook for almost $3000, which is almost x10 what the permits actually cost when contacting our local permit office. We would like this bill either erased, or at a bare minimum reduced to the price of the permits themselves, as we did not authorize any other work to be done, therefore should not be held liable for this bill.
