This complaint is about one of the companies, TM Cobb (****************) who was, and maybe still is, one of the contractors in the San ***** ******* Home Program (QHP). I have a 10-year warranty on the doors, and I feel that my warranty request was not addressed appropriately.

My QHP installation was completed on 7/1/2013, therefore, my warranty ends 6/30/2023.

I filed a request for a door replacement with my bay master bedroom ****** balcony door starting in December 2019. I’ll attach the email dialogue. A very long story short and after three service agents inspecting the door, TM Cobb would not replace the door even after the third service agent proved it was leaking at the bottom left corner of the glass. The reasoning TM Cobb used was that I did not have an awning on the door. The entire Sea Colony complex doesn’t have awnings on these doors prior to and after the QHP installations. Even with these facts, the door window leaks at the bottom left corner, period. TM Cobb did not stand behind their door or their warranty. Ultimately, I had the door replaced in March 2022.

I did not “pay” for the QHP installation. TM Cobb doesn’t seem to be interested in dealing with warranty requests for service. The desired settlement would be for TM Cobb to reimburse me for the cost of the new door and the proper installation of the door, which was less than $5,000.

The reason for the delay of this project and complaint: I was my parent’s caretaker in FL until they passed away, from 2014-2021. When I returned from FL in Sep 2021, I’ve been catching up with the repair and maintenance of my home. Recently, I decided to file complaints (this one and another one with a window, both under the San ***** ******* Home Program) with BBB before my warranty ends in June 2023. If this is happening to me, I would bet it’s happening to other homeowners and I feel it should be reported.
