On 11/09 I picked up my van from Dannys Automotive seems the van was working fine 2 days later I noticed a leak on the driver side Then on the passenger side there was a small leak I already had a bad experience with Dannys of been rude when it came to the money because they wanted me to pay them full price when I went thru the insurance and only had to pay the deductible in which that did get resolved but left me not trusting them since they didnt want to help me figure it out So I found a different mechanic in ********** in which he send me a video and I have attach screenshots of it where Dannys automotive put a zip tie in which damage the part and resulting in a leak on the driver side front

      Hello,

*******************, 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, was driven into us on 11/03/2023. Vehicle arrived with spare tire on the Front Left. Appears that vehicle been in collision on front left side. Found that impact caused damage front driver side strut, and strut is now bent. Also, found that the inner and outer tie rods needed to be replaced as well. Recommended to replace both side front struts, and inner and outer tie rods. Customer declines work that day, and drove vehicle home. Customer returned on 11/09/2023. On return visit, customer requests to go against previous recommendation, and requested to replace only the front driver side strut, and inner and outer tie rods, a bare minimum repair. Upon completion of work, customer at the point told us this was going through their warranty. Spoke with customers warranty, and driver side strut and inner and outer tie rods were approved and paid for.

As per the customer attached photos. It appears that the driver side rack and pinion dust boot has popped off. We did not zip tie the dust boot onto the rack and pinion, but a lot of dust boots come pre-zipped tied. This is not a safety concern, and can easily be reattached.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

as stated by another mechanic that had to redo it because the parts are cheap and the zip tie that was tied on the boot cause the issue in the rack pinion

the zip tie went inside the rack pinion and damaged it

Once again, the only parts we replaced were the front driver side strut, and the inner and outer tie rod on that side. We never touched the rack and pinion, but if the customer would have brought the vehicle back into us, we would have been more than happy to take a look at it for the customer.  I've also never seen a zip tie damage a rack and pinion before. The rack and pinion also could have been damaged due to the accident, but the customer wanted to do bare minimum repairs.
