I went to Live Scan Sacramento on 05/26/2022 for live scan services to be completed and paid $74.00. The results were sent to the agency that provides teacher credentials, Commission on Teacher Credentialing (***). In the summer it takes a while for applications to process due to the number of teachers applying before a new school year begins. On 07/08/2022 I received notice from the *** that my fingerprints were unable to be used because the Live Scan operator made an error on their end and did not include my personal identifying information when they transmitted it to the ***. They were insufficient and I was told to submit new fingerprints in which I should not be charged due to the Live Scan operators errors. I went back to Live Scan Sacramento the day I received the notice, 07/08/2022, and explained the situation. I showed them the email from the ***, my original Live Scan forms, and receipt of payment and requested a new live-scan to be done with no fee due to their error. The Live Scan operator Sai called her manager ***** at *************) and explained the situation. ***** told Sai that because I didn't come in with an official letter from the ********************* they would not waive the charge for a new live scan. I needed these live scan results to be completed ASAP as its time-sensitive for my job. They charged me $79.00 on 07/08/2022. The *** told me later I would not have received a letter from the *** for this type of error. After my Live Scan, I called ***** that afternoon to discuss the situation and explained I didn't feel it was fair for me to be charged a second time when the notice clearly stated it was a Live Scan operator error and they should guarantee the service they are providing. She denied any wrongdoing on their end and told me to tell the *** to refund me for my second live scan. She offered to call the company they submit their info to and see if they can find anything but she has not contacted me back since that discussion.
