      Absolutely unacceptable experience with Chicago Title. My wife and I just signed the closing documents for our homea huge milestone for us, especially as I transition out of the ************ after five years of service.Just two hours after signing, we received a call from ***** ******* demanding an additional $2,079.39. Mind you, we had already submitted both our ******* money deposit and full closing funds. I've purchased homes before and have never had a title company come back demanding more money after the documents were ********* make matters worse, we were told by ***** that our only option was to either pay up or cancel the entire contract. They made a serious error by entering something that was supposed to be a debit as a credit. What title company worth its salt makes that kind of mistake and then expects the customer to just cough up another two thousand dollars to fix it? Thats not just sloppythats downright negligent.This was supposed to be a moment of celebration, and instead we were left feeling blindsided and extorted. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a transparent or professional experience.

       A clerical error in tax prorations was made that caused a credit to Mr. ***** instead of a charge, which created a $2,000.00 +- discrepancy.  We made the Olsons aware of the discrepancy, and the amount of required additional funds within hours of the signing.  Once we found out Mr. ***** was Military, we gave him the Military Discount.  

      Will *****, the County Manager at Chicago Title Company had multiple conversations with Mr. ***** last week.  He explained that we were a regulated company and couldn't waive our fees. They came to a mutual understanding and agreement at that time.  We reimbursed both of his wire fees and the signing fee totaling an additional $200.00.

      It is our belief and hope that this has been resolved with the Olsons.  I have attached a copy of the check that was issued for the $200.00 refund on May 6, 2025.
