I contacted the business to resolve an issue with my refrigerator. They came and believed they fixed it; however they did not, so they tried something else and ended up breaking a new part of my fridge and tried to charge me to have them fix the piece they broke plus the other part that was broken to begin with. They then tried to sell me a new fridge instead of fixing my fridge, they then left without resolving anything.

I am rejecting this response because:

That is a false accusation and defamation to my character, I would have much rather appreciated him being honest and admitting he could not fix the issue instead of him taking my money to break my refrigerator completely and continue to cause stress and anxiety over the course of a month.  I have included the timeline of the incident below.

2/2/23- Initial contact, he replied and explained there is a $30 estimate fee that will be applied to the total balance if hired. He agreed to come on 2/3/23 from 1-3pm.

2/3/23- First refrigerator inspection, he said it was the gas that needed to be refilled and he was going to charge $240, and if for whatever reason it did not work after this the price would go down to $90 and he would refund me the difference- $150. I agreed and he completed the job.

2/8/23- The freezer “temp” light was blinking again, and it was not cooling

2/9/2023- I called him to let him know of the situation, he said he would stop by on 2/10/23 to take a look.

2/10/2023- He did not show up or call to inform that he would not be coming.

2/11/2023- still didn’t hear from him, I finally text him that I was still waiting for the repair or at least a call back. He replied and said he would be coming on 2/13/23 from 9-11am.

2/13/2023- it was after 11:00amand no call/ no show AGAIN, I sent him a text and just asked him to refund me the $150 due to it not working. He replied at 12:29pm and said he was on his way to put more gas, and he did.

    2/17/2023- Not working

2/21/2023- I called him again and told him, so he said it must be the filter that has to be replaced, he will be ordering the part and it should arrive by 2/24 so that’s when he would be coming.

2/24/2023- NEVER CALLED AND NEVER CAME

2/27/2023- I called him and as soon as he answered his tone was extremely aggressive and rude. He said there was no way he would be coming due to the “snow”. I told him it was no longer snowing and had not snowed in my city for a few days. He replied extremely upset, “Senora temenos que tener cuidado” (Lady we have to be careful) referring to the possible slippery roads.

3/2/2023- He finally showed up, extremely rude!! did not acknowledge or greet me. He showed up with a second person and neither one of them replied as I said “hello”, I could tell they were upset. I asked the 2nd person how it was going and he said it was not the filter that was the problem, it was not leaking gas. This is after they cut the filter out so I asked, what now? He said to fix the NOW issue it will be $590, part + labor. The entire time he kept continuing to pressure me to purchase one of the refrigerators he was selling. "I don’t have the money at this moment to buy a refrigerator” I told him. He explained that there is no point in installing a new filter because it’s still not going to work and that I would still have to pay for the labor. I asked him if he could at least leave it how it was and he said if he did that I would still be responsible for labor fees, of him putting back together what he broke.

Me: "You as a professional should have done a proper inspection before further damaging my refrigerator

plus, you said if you left it working the first time it would be $240 if not $90 and now it’s even worse. At

first just the freezer was not working and now NOTHING IS WORKING”

Him: “I know you are judging me because I’m young, but I know what I’m doing"

Me: "I never said anything about your age, I am talking about the damage"

Him: "well I don’t have time for any of this and You aren’t paying me for my time so all I can offer you is a discount of $120 on a new fridge" and left.

He walked out leaving my fridge without filter and not working and did not supply the refund

for it not working. This was a terrible experience and would never want anyone to be treated like I was.
