      I was on my way to purchase a ring to a reputable jewelry store when I happen to pass by S&L company. The manager and regional director were so overly nice and helpful telling me they will give me the best deal. I was upfront saying my credit is not so perfect. They opened 2 accounts for me (one for a bogus bracelet) In short to cover for the price of the jewelry which i was made to believe fair for 4k.Turned out im being charged $4900. Returned the ring as I was not 100% happy with it & exchanged for a pair of lab grown earrings. Again was made to believe it is the best fair price! Turns out comparable prices range $2900-3300. I felt this is unfair trading practice. I messaged them about this pricing but was ignored. Came back to the store if they can help me with my loan, for them to explain the extra $943 charge and the unfair pricingstill they are insisting it is a fair price! Again $4900 for a 3.04 carat is wayyyyyy overpriced and the fact that they cannot explain the $943 charge is infuriating. I felt cheated!

      My mom who is elderly and doesnt speak English very well went in because she saw a free promotion for prizes and money. They showed my mom a set of ***** earrings and a matching necklace. To my moms understanding the earrings were only $180. They told my mom if she opened a credit card with them she can get free prizes like a LV bag and iPhone 15, so my mom did. She kept repeating I dont have to pay anything right? And they kept showing her the $0 balance on the receipt which in fact was just the amount she owed for that day and made her sign in multiple places She kept asking if she had to pay anything for the jewelry or the free items they gave her but they kept saying 0 and pointing to parts of the receipt that said 0. My mom ended up buying $25000 worth of jewelry and she didnt even know it. She was told she didnt have to pay anything. I think this shop took advantage of my mom because she is elderly and doesnt speak English very well. When she went back to return the items they said there was no returns. So to do her a favor they accepted the return of the $25k jewelry but made her buy another set for $10k and had her sign more papers. They wouldnt refund my moms money and the only choice they gave her was to purchase another set of jewelry that cost 10k. She was told the whole time in her visit she didnt have to pay anything and now she has to pay $10,000 for something she doesnt even want or can afford. I believe they targeted her because she is elderly and doesnt speak English very well.

      On November 18, 2022, at 6:34 PM. I was just passing by ********** Jewelry when ******* (saleslady) approached me and informed me that there was a promotion at the store. She said that they had a raffle where I could win a piece of jewelry. I entered the raffle, and won $1,000 worth of jewelry, I picked a set of earrings. My initial reaction of course was to be excited and happy. Then after that, ******* gave me a necklace and she said that I should try it on, I already told her that I didnt want anything but my free earrings. I told them that I needed to go home because it was getting late, and I was taking a bus. ******* asked for my ID, and requested my personal information without explaining, why she needed it. ******* took my driver license and *********** credit card. She insisted that the process would be fast but neglected to explain what process she was talking about. ******* kept saying just wait a little longer, I kept telling her I had to go, and ask them for my driver license and my credit card. ******* refused to return my ID and credit card. I didnt know they were running my credit which I didnt authorize them to do. As I repeatedly told them that Im not really interested, but they wont listen. They just keep saying that its almost finish, but I didnt know what ******* was talking about, all I wanted was to go home, but I wasnt able to do that because they had my ID and credit card. They refused to return it. And, when we review the agreement, we noticed that they signed the electronics agreement on my behalf without my permission(which is a crime) purging a customer signature. This is also clearly an Elderly abuse. I know that they targeting senior like me, I do know also that besides me there is one senor person complaining to the store.

      From the first month I dealt with them I regret it tremendously, they can't even mail me a statement on time before my due date I have to keep calling them and they trying to get me to pay late fee when it's their fault my payments are late. I refuse to make a payment without a statement I do this on all my bills because I don't trust them they can say they never received it I keep getting calls of harassment for a payment I wish I had never dealt with them and they will never get a late fee out of me they will get their monthly payment by money order only!

      Date: 10/17/2022 To whom it may concern:We are writing to respond the complaint that was made from ***********************. *********************** purchased two items with us using one of our financing partners, Genesis ****** to satisfy her purchases payment in full. All mentioned issues in her complaint, such as receiving account monthly statement, ways in making payments, late fees, and anything else regarding that specific financing account are provided/produced through Genesis ******; Moreover, ********** is a retail jewelry store, we do not monitor nor have access to any customers financing account; however, all sales transaction related information was given to **************, and all sales receipts were signed with her signature. As of today, we have never received a call of complaint from **************, nor has she come in to ask for any additional information regarding making payments or any late fees. Upon receiving this complaint notice, one of our store team associates contacted **************, and we have not receive any response from her. Thank you. ***************** (Store Manager)
