In early 2023, I got hurt on the job and had to go to the *** My company helped me file a workers comp claim. The claim got processed and everything seemed fine. Later, I received a letter from the ********************************** ********* claiming that they needed a payout from the visit that was already handled by my companys workers comp insurance. Mitchell International works for **** ********* to help collect workers compensation bills. The bill had some accurate information about my workers comp claim but had the wrong employer (1st red flag), and the amount they were asking for was double what the hospital asked for my workers comp to pay (2nd red flag). I talked to someone on the phone that seemed as if they were trying to clone my voice for scamming because they asked for my name multiple times over and over again (3rd red flag). They then transferred me to an automated system that claimed I won $100(4th red flag), I hung up after that. Ive also talked to other people who have had similar experiences with them trying to collect a workers comp debt that was already cleared. **** ********* may be legit, but Mitchell seems like they do a lot of predatory, fraudulent and scam-based tactics to try take advantage of workers who were injured on the job. Even when theyre company has workers comp insurance.
