    I used Dewitt in 2012 for two large international moves, so I decided to use them again. This year, we used DeWitt International for four moves from December 2023 through October 2024: 1) ********** ****** to ***************; 2). ********** ****** to **** ******; 3) Another from ********** to *******, and 4) ********** to ******, *****. The Royal Hawaiian Movers were thorough and worked in a timely fashion for all the moves from BI. However, to our surprise, a handmade vase made by my daughter which had won an All-Japan Prize for Ceramics was crushed beyond repair; and this was the shipment only as far as Oahu! We called to complain and was told to contact another office who would demand more paperwork on the piece. Of course we have no receipt for such a thing, yet we were asked to supply one. By the time all this happened, the deadline for filing whatever paperwork we could muster was missed and our very valuable piece just sat in crumbled pieces. No apology, not explanation, no help was offered for the mistake in either wrapping or shipping. Just sloppiness and failure to take responsibility. When we were thinking of shipping things o ******, the info.about the shipment was opaque from pricing to customs. We were told that we could be taxed for our own used household goods maybe, but not sure. So .we decided to ship to to ******* for storage instead. This was not ideal as we do not live there.. Finally, our shipment to ***** , also one with a very vague pricing, was supposed to arrive sometime from the 15th, and we have had no notice about its arrival, despite our inquiries. Also, we received confusing bills after we had paid them, suggesting that the system is not working. I would think a family who spent this much money shipping with Dewitt this year would receive better service. But alas, we are greatly disappointed. I would be a total fool to use them again. Dewitt--Unprofessional, not well-collaborated between domestic/int'l.

    We used Dewitt moving from **** to ******. We. paid over 20k, and got full coverage insurance for the move. The companies they partnered with, Mesa Moving, in ****, and Royal Hawaiian Movers, in ******, did a good job, but somewhere in transit several high dollar items were damaged. Despite their values being higher than what they offered to pay to replace, we accepted the offer in April through their partner ********************. It is now August and we have not received ANY refunds for the damages they caused, which we documented, reported, and have waited for. Poor communication with us the whole time. I am so disappointed to have to write a negative review. I just was our money back. We paid the extra costs to have it all "fully covered" for nothing. What a waste. ***********************

    Thank you for contacting us. In looking into this, the payment company was requesting wire information in order to make the payment. I understand that we just received that and that payment has been sent for processing. We apologize for the delay and hope that this rectifies the claim on the damaged items.

    This company is horrific. They were contracted through my initial moving service who were to handle my move throughout the mainland (west coast to east coast). Dewitt handled my shipment, which led to the arrival of my shipment as a complete nightmare. They used along with the coordination of another company to use coercion, verbal aggressive tactics, demanding of payment and signature with the use of force, duress and violation of my safety as a women, while also using grown men to stay in my home until I payed, signed, and withstood verbal aggression from their International Coordinators belittling me, yelling, talking down, using condescending tones to force me to pay some strangers that were not wearing any business attire while refusing to understand the situation, my contract, or answer my questions. After hours of waiting to understand why my prepaid shipment was now being treated like a car sale tactics or oil change add ons once they found out I was a young single women, the Dewitt Coordinators called the men to then pass the phone to me and proceeded to continually cut off trying to find answer and left in a situation that felt unsafe and uncomfortable. I did not agree or want to sign, nor did I fully understand the terms seeing how I was forced to sign under psychological pressure and coercion with the use of scare and verbal aggressive tactics. This led to my invalid signature under duress with protest, to ensure my safety and well-being were prioritized. Please don't use them and I have let my initial movers know as well to escalate this unprofessional and uncalled for business practices. To use movers, specifically men and corporate/higher *** to coerce money out of a person by making them feel unsafe, small, scared, and confused is disgusting, horrific, and uncalled for. To yell, berate customers, and use power and money over a customer demanding payment is rude and unprofessional and poor business practices. Negative 5 stars read the other comments

    Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We know moving is a very stressful time and a difficult process. We do not operate in this manner or use partner companies that use these tactics. I did review your file and I understand that we did not have the delivery address or details of the location for the delivery at the time of the pick-up in ******. Once at the destination there was a long carry and an elevator involved which are accessorial services and something that caused more labor expenses and time to deliver your goods to your new residence. These are excluded from the door-to-door services and the movers requested an additional $71 for these extra services needed to perform the delivery. We would like to rectify the situation and while it is standard and a reasonable charge for the extra services, we would like to offer you a 150 to offset those charges from the destination agents' charges.We are very sorry to hear about this situation and how it made you feel. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to get this rectified and sent out to you. We will also discuss this with the owner of the moving company that did your delivery and the employees that were at your house as well as the person at DeWitt.Thank you again for letting us know, so that we can address the situation and ensure that something like this does not happen to anyone else that we are moving.Sincerely,*********************** President.

    A family member who is a Senior Citizen and lives alone in ****** had a stoke and needed medical attention. We contacted Alej of Dewitt moving company and explained the situation in my email for help so that he could return to ** in ******. It's been 15 days waiting and not a reply from her. There is no customer satisfaction at all. ********************** doesn't deserve the one star at all.
