Mr. ***** Lovelace came to my place of residence to take the measurements to determine the whether the wall was load bearing. We agreed on the cost of his services and I agreed because it appeared to be a competitive price. Paid for the service, $475, and I received the pdf version of the drawings.Recently received another billing statement, $375. When I called the business, I was told I was not clear on the billing process and I am trying to not pay the agreed amount. Absolutely false... I was never aware of the additional cost ****** the agreed upon fee of $475.

    Business Response

    To whom it may concern,

I have email correspondence with Mr. **** where I explained the engineering services I would provide and the associated costs. I emailed to him that the initial site inspection fee was $375 to which ************ agreed and I subsequently performed the inspection. Following the inspection, I sent an email explaining that the structural engineering required would be $475 additional, and he agreed and asked me to proceed. I provided this engineering to ************ and he paid us the $475.

He did not pay the $375 for the site inspection as it was not clear to him what that $375 outstanding invoice was for, he thought he had paid everything. It was an honest oversight on his part. He came into my office today and we discussed all of this and he has agreed to pay the $375.

Unfortunately, my administrative assistant was not very helpful in this situation as she was rude to Mr. **** and insinuated that he was purposely trying to avoid paying us the $375, which was not the case. I have spoken with my assistant so that this does not happen again in the future, and I apologized to Mr. ****.

I consider this complaint resolved, and I believe that Mr. **** does as well.
