    I bought a 2018 tesla model 3 from San diego ecars last april 2 2024.The *** ***** told me that if i buy a used Tesla i can qualify for a ev tax credit.IRS said that im not qualified.I asked them if they can help me to solve the issue and they said they cant do nothing about it in that time ***** said there is nothing on the system that allowed them to put the ********** because of the issue i have to pay IRS $3300 for their mistake

    We appreciate the opportunity to respond to ******************* concerns regarding his purchase of a 2018 Tesla Model 3 from San Diego eCars on April 2, 2024, for $23,995.

    At the time of sale, our dealership was not yet registered with the *** as an authorized dealer for Time-of-Sale (ToS) reporting or instant ** tax credit transfer. We became active with the *** for these purposes in May 2024, after Mr. ******* purchase.

    We clearly communicated to Mr. ****** at the time of purchase that while his vehicle may qualify under *** guidelines for the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit (used **s priced under $25,000), any eligibility would need to be confirmed by his own tax professional and handled directly with the *** when he files his taxes.

    Unfortunately, the *** does not allow Time-of-Sale forms to be filed retroactively, and we are legally unable to backdate or submit any such report for a transaction that occurred prior to our official activation with the *** program. This has been explained to Mr. ****** multiple times.

    We also understand from Mr. ******* recent communication that the vehicle he purchased is now salvaged. While we are sympathetic to any difficulties this may have caused, the vehicles status and any personal tax obligations incurred are not related to San Diego eCars' handling of the sale.

    Mr. ******* claim that he now owes $3,300 to the *** due to our mistake is inaccurate. The dealership made no representations or guarantees regarding the customers tax filing outcome or credit approval. All communication regarding the ** tax credit clearly stated that any eligibility and filing responsibility lies with the customer and their tax advisor, per *** regulations.

    We remain committed to providing honest and transparent service, and we regret any confusion Mr. ****** may have experienced. However, we respectfully maintain that we acted appropriately and within all regulatory guidelines at the time of sale.
