I dont know if you can help me at all but I really dont know who else to reach out to. My family and I have been searching for a puppy for a very long time. We did research on multiple animal rescues through petfinder, and fell in love with ******* was located in ****** ******** at an animal rescue named WonderDog. Which is actually 2 hours from my home in ********* **. I quickly got in contact with the shelter director to see if ******* was still available. I spoke with ******************* on Sunday July 2nd she asked me various questions about my self, my fianc, my daughter and even my elderly mother who resides with us. We spoke for about an hour. She stated that she was unable to see my paperwork but thought we would be a good fit. She said she would like to see photos of where we lived I advised that would not be a problem. She also said she would send me photos and videos of *******. We agreed that if everything thing was good that we could adopt and pick up ******* on that following Sunday. I sent her the requested photos and she told us it was beautiful. I immediately fell in love with ******* upon receiving photos and video of her. I reached out to ***** and asked if it was possible that we get ******* on Wednesday July 5th as I actually had the day off from work. She said yes I was ecstatic. We went to ****************************************** at 11am. Upon getting there it was clear ******* was perfect for our family. ***** asked me to pay a $400 fee for the adoption fee. Which we did and said she was unable to print the contract and would email it to me. She also advised that ******* would need to be Spayed in about 3months but the cost was covered. While camping I received a text from ***** stating Hi *******. I wasnt supposed to let ******* go home before WonderDog spayed her and now Im in big trouble with my boss in CA. ??Theres an opening at ****** ********** on Tue morning so I need to get her tomorrow and bring her back to you on Wed. I didnt want to worry you about this but I can fix everything by getting her spayed on Tuesday at no cost to you. ******************* be at home tomorrow? We were very skeptical at this point as ******* is only 3 months and asked to speak with her director in **********. She advised *********************** would be contacting me. ***** contacted us and informed us it is in there bylaws that ******* must be spayed. We finally agreed that when we returned on Thursday that we would be in contact with *****. Upon returning we spoke with ***** and agreed that she would pick up ******* on Wednesday she would be Spayed on Thursday July 20th and returned to us on Friday. The next day she texted me that the Vet needed to change appointment till Friday July 21st so ******* would be picked up on Thursday and returned on Saturday. On Thursday she picked up ******* and advised to my fianc they never received original contract that had been signed by both her and I. She handed him a completely different contract. Which had both adoption and ****** to adopt checked and there was a clause stated if the dog was not spayed by us on a specific date that the rescue could take her back. Which was dated 7/19/23 We only realized this after ***** left with the dog. There are no signatures on that copy. I was at work yesterday July 22nd at 4:34pm I received the following email while I was at work Dear ******* and ********************** has notified me that ******* was returned for her spay, and that this has been completed. Im quite grateful for that.I am also aware that it was extremely difficult to communicate with you by text, email and phone. The contract was never signed and returned. Texts were not returned. This lack of communication is a problem, as it speaks to your civility, respectability and ability to give ******* a loving home. We take the adoption of our dogs very seriously. Because of our concern over the above mentioned incidents, we are retracting the adoption. We have refunded your payment via PayPal and you will receive confirmation. Regretfully, ***********************, Director. I immediately contacted my Fianc who reached out to ******** Police who advise we needed to contact ** ************ as the dog was taken from our house. Both said they could not help us. He need contacted the Columbia ************************** who advised that they have had multiple complaints about the property. Sheriff ******** would look into it and get back to us. Several texts went back and forth between *****, *****, my Fianc and myself. The director in ********** advised her decision was final.
