Thank you ***220-volt dryer is not possible.Misrepresentation of Bedrooms: The report incorrectly stated that the house has only two bedrooms, while it was rented as a three-bedroom property, contradicting bank documents that show three bedrooms. This information is not within their purview to comment on.Ignoring Grandfathering Laws: The inspectors ignored the fact that the house falls under grandfathering laws, which they dismissed without consideration.Influence of Tenant Requests: The inspectors wrote the report to align with what the tenants wanted them to say, compromising the objectivity of their findings.Disregard for Official Approvals: They ignored the approval of the Tesla charging installation by the ************ electrical inspector officer, incorrectly stating that no records for permits were found.Defamation and Vandalism: Their actions have resulted in defamation of our property, vandalism, and false representations, which have harmed the reputation of our house.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/11/2024

    Hello,

This inspection was done by our master electricians. The tenants called us out because the landlord has not fixed their electrical issues. The tenants wanted an electrical report. The tenants paid for the report out of pocket. Pictures were provided with the report. The "panel" the person refers to already had its cover removed when we had gotten on site. That section is not a panel anymore, it is being used as a junction box and had problems. The laundry when we got on site was connected on an extension cord. We did make the mistake of putting dryer. But the washer was on an extension cord when we got on site. The property had a list of violations. When city records were searched nothing came up. Photos were provided on the report to show the violations. This report was to only be used as support for the tenants. City officials sent out their code enforcement to determine that all these violations reported on the report were correct. We can only report on what we saw. We offered the landlord or *** to fix the part of the report where it states that the dryer was connected on a extension cord. We cannot fix something we did no work on. No vandalism or misrepresentation was committed. We only inspected and reported. Landlord needs to hire a C-10 contractor to fix their violations that are being enforced by the city of Oakland Code Enforcement.

I am rejecting this response because:

False Statements and Reporting: The business stated that the property was in ******* when, in fact, it is located in *******. This misrepresentation undermines the credibility of their report.
Safety Hazards: Leaving the junction box open creates a significant safety hazard, indicating negligence on the part of the business.
Lack of Evidence for Claims: The report claimed there was debris preventing access for necessary work, but no evidence was providedsuch as photos or documentationto support this claim. This absence of evidence raises serious questions about the validity of their findings and suggests that the report may have been fabricated or exaggerated.
Admission of Error: The acknowledgment of mistakes regarding the dryer issues highlights a lack of professionalism and competency, further supporting the argument that they should not be operating in their capacity.
Misrepresentation of Electrical Work: Confusion between 220-volt and 110-volt systems indicates a fundamental misunderstanding, suggesting that the individuals involved may not be qualified.
Potential Malpractice: If the report was designed to assist tenants in making false claims against the landlord, this could indicate collusion or malpractice.
Financial Accountability: The assertion that the business benefited financially from false reporting raises ethical concerns. They should be held accountable for any damages caused by their actions.
Reporting to Authorities: Given the seriousness of these allegations, it may be necessary to report their practices to regulatory authorities to investigate potential misconduct.
Compensation for Damages: The business must compensate the landlord for the damages caused by their false reporting. This accountability is essential to address the financial impact of their actions.

    Sincerely,
