1-Star Review: UrthBox Deluxe Box Scam Subscription with Expired Food and No Customer Support I signed up for the ******* Large Box huge mistake. The box they sent was filled with food that expired within 24 hours or by the end of the week. I contacted UrthBox over a month in advance asking for help, a refund, and to cancel the next box. I sent follow-up messages every other day with no response. Once they shipped the exact box I asked them not to send, I started emailing every day. They didnt respond until a couple days before the box arrived at my door at which point they told me they wouldn't cancel my subscription, and that their "solution" was to keep charging me and toss in a complimentary small box of more garbage. This is a scam dressed up as a snack subscription. They ignore support emails, trap you in auto-renewals, and dump expired and nearly expired food on paying customers.I regret ever signing up. Avoid ********************** at all costs.

I am another person who has had problems with UrthBox auto renewing after I purchased a gift subscription and subsequently trying to cancel. I had to contact the company multiple times asking to cancel after I was auto billed without my knowledge of the agreement to auto renew. This company partakes in terrible business practices and should be avoided. The product itself is very sub par and not worth the price in the first place - the recipient of the gift subscription is actually health conscious and this company does not meet the **** of health conscious. It is mostly just other forms of sugar and sweeteners.

I purchased the 6-month delivery box service as a gift in Dec 2023. 6 months later I got billed for a subscription. There was no mention that I was buying a subscription with an automatic renewal when I was purchasing this gift. I contacted their customer services and they refused to refund the cost literally the same day when they charged me. This is not how you gain customers - deceptive practices at their best!

Received this subscription as a gift and I was so excited to try new healthy GF snacks. Someone needs to explain the words healthy and snack to whoever runs this company. The first box was a total disappointment . Half of the items were pure sugar with no nutritional value such as (2) single servings of sprinkles for ice cream, flavored sugar to mix with water, two packages of candy, my mom tried and it was stale. Three items with already expired dates and a couple more that were due to expire within one month. There was also bouillon cubes. When the person who made the purchase called to complain and try to cancel, the customer support person refused. And explained that expired items were still good for up to 6 months ( I thought there were *** rules about this) and sprinkles were indeed a snack as were bouillon cubes. The ** person promised to send out another, larger box for the inconvenience and promised a better experience. So far nothing has arrived and its been almost three weeks. The 2nd original monthly box is due soon. To say that I am not looking forward to it is an understatement. So far the animals that live at the dump can eat what weve had to throw out and there may be more following, IF we get more boxes, which based on reviews is questionable.

Complete scam.I ordered a 6 month subscription as a Christmas present for my mom. Six months later I got an email that my subscription had been renewed. When I got ahold of Urthbox I was told that I had never cancelled the original subscription and that it renews automatically. I found that very odd as cancelling temporary subscriptions is always the first thing I do, but having no proof there wasn't much I could do. I was told that the subscription was now canceled and I wouldn't be charged going forward.Six months later I got another I was charged another $240. When I went to check my account I found out it no longer exists and when I tried to call the support number it came up as out of service. I'm currently trying to have the charges reversed. Never deal with this company.

Wow... So many bad BBB reviews. Am I surprised? Not at all.We were excited to try UrthBox when our friend gave us an $83.97 giftcard to apply towards a 3 month box. We put our code in and were not charged for the first month's box (great!) but were charged for the boxes that were sent on months 2 and 3. They said we were only able to apply our $83.97 gift code towards the first box (the box was less than $30)!!!! They said we had to get a new code for every additional month's box!! What kind of business does not let you apply the SAME gift code worth over $80 until the balance is zero? UrthBox is such a dishonest company. They are not clear in the fact that you need to ask them for a new code EVERY time your balance is adjusted. Even after this, they refused to give us our money back even though we have a code that would've covered boxes 2 and 3. If they were an honest company, they would have refunded our money and applied the code to pay for the boxes 2 and 3. And even after all of this, they asked if we still want to continue our subscription. Huh. Why would I ever support this company? If this is how they stay in business, shame on them. They need to rethink a lot of things or they are going to go out of business FAST.

      Hi Himani
There was an error in our system and we have fixed it. Also we have refunded the credit balance on your gift card. We understand and apologise the experience was not what you expected but hope we fixed the issue satisfactorily and promptly. Yes like any organization that is growing rapidly we do have some open leaks that we are fixing along the way. But we are striving for customer satisfaction. Hope we could provide that.

Frustrated with the auto renew policy. Ordered a "GIFT BOX" for a family member. You wouldn't think an auto renew would apply for something you're "gifting". Anyway, after 6 months my family member said they're still receiving boxes. I only found out I was being charged due to *********** reaching out on a suspect charge. Voiced my concern to Urthbox in an email and initially was told there was nothing that could be done. I could cancel now however they'd receive the rest of their boxes until December. After a little more back and forth Urthbox agreed to only charge me for the one box that was sent and refund the remainder of the subscription price, which was a fair solution in my eyes. After reading some of these reviews I question the ethics of the company. I appreciate how I was communicated with (thank you ****) throughout my situation however I think they need to rethink their policy.

We are really sorry to hear about your experience. As of May 2023 the company is under new ownership and management. I assure you we are heeding to all feedback and trying to clarify and make things as simple as possible. We have figured out a way to gift without auto renewal and will be executing the change shortly. We appreciate your support and patience. Thanks.
