I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue regarding a recent attempt to repossess a tenant's property in *************. The actions of the attorney ************ Wasserman involved in this matter not only violate state and local laws but also raise serious ethical concerns.According to the ************************ Petition 519 # E230337, the attorney in question placed a 3-day pay or quit notice on a tenant's door, despite being informed by the board that such an action is illegal. This attempt at repossession not only violates *************** Just Cause for Eviction Ordinance, but also subjects the attorney to potential fines of up to $2000 and/or 6 months in jail for a misdemeanor criminal offense. What is particularly alarming about this situation is that the attorney in question is also a landlord commissioner in the *************. This creates a clear conflict of interest and raises concerns about the attorney's ability to act impartially in their role as a commissioner.I believe that these actions not only violate the law, but also go against basic principles of professional ethics. As an attorney and a commissioner, the individual involved in this matter is expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct. By placing a 3-day pay or quit notice on a tenant's door, despite being informed that such an action is illegal, the attorney has failed to meet these standards.I urge you to take swift action to address this issue and ensure that the attorney involved is held accountable for their actions. This could include an investigation into potential violations of state and local laws, as well as a review of the attorney's conduct as a landlord commissioner on the *************.
