Thursday 5/8/25, I took my truck to Jiffy Lube to have an oil change and new filter service. I drove home which is 3 miles away to find oil pouring down the engine. I parked the truck, called Jiffy Lube. and was told their manager was gone and I would need to call back the next day. I needed my truck for work so my father and I went to ********, bought oil and an oil filter to do the oil change ourselves. The oil drain plug was filthy, covered in road debris with zero signs of having been wrenched on to drain the oil, and the oil that came out was dirty and black. The oil filter was filthy and was missing the O-ring which caused the oil to pour out of the reservoir. The following day, we went to Jiffy Lube and were told the manager was not there. The tech suggested we send an email detailing what happened, which we did, and included photos. The manager called the next day, I told him I wanted a refund and he said that I needed to personally come in to the shop for the refund. My mother and I went in the following day, spoke with the manager who required for us to sign a release before they would give me my refund. He said that because we changed the oil ourselves that we needed to sign the release. We told him that we already sent him an email in which we confirmed that we completed the oil change that they failed to do, we needed to drive the vehicle and could not wait around for him to finally respond to our complaint. He said that we should have brought the vehicle back to them to fix the issue?? He refused to provide the refund so we insisted to speak with their General Manager. While we stood right there, the manager called and was speaking to his GM. Despite that we were standing right there, in front of customers, with the manager being unable to handle the situation, the ** refused to speak with us and said he would call us instead the following day. We are still waiting for that call.

-On 5/8/2024 I went to Jiffy Lube at ********************************************************************** for a free oil top off and drove home (4.2 miles)-The next day 5/9/24 I noticed my car had a rattling sound and was accelerating when idle. Upon driving home the *** light came on my dashboard with car symptoms worsening. -Took my car to *********** Shop in ********, ** on 5/13/24 for a diagnostic test. They reached out to me on 5/14/24 and stated Jiffy Lube left my oil cap on my windshield cowl, causing oil spillage in the engine body and debris to get into the engine. Their recommendation is a full engine replacement -I was connected to the District Manager of this Jiffy Lube location, ************************* on 5/16/24 and had 3 phone conversations with him. ***** went down to ***********, inspected the car, paid for the diagnostic check, but asked for a 2nd diagnostic check to be made at another mechanic shop of his decision. When I insisted I would like my car to be serviced at ***********, ***** said he would not consent and connected me to the Regional Manager ***********************. -**** called me on 5/17/24 and stated he didn't agree with *****'s offer but would stand by it and acknowledged responsibility for leaving the oil cap off, but doesn't believe the engine replacement recommendation is a result of this and said I could take a few days to review my situation or take them to court to fight this decision. -I visited *********** on 5/20/24 and reviewed my diagnostic check with them and believe Jiffy Lube's actions are at fault as it pertains to my engine. I have been in a rental vehicle from 5/13/24- present that is not covered by Jiffy Lube or my insurance. I am requesting compensation from Jiffy Lube for the cost of my engine replacement, repair of oil leaks due to cap being left off, and rental car.

On November 30th, my boyfriend, *******************************, brought in our White 2018 Chevrolet Malibu for an oil change and to change the spark plugs. Prior to this visit, the car had been regularly serviced, and had received routine oil changes; the car had no prior issues. He dropped off the vehicle and left the building; receiving a call to pick up the vehicle approx. 4 hours later. Upon picking up the vehicle, the team members at the location did not say anything about the vehicle, they just completed the transaction and gave back the keys. There is no documentation of any issues that arose on the paperwork given at checkout (attached). After he left with the vehicle, ******* noticed a slight clicking/knocking sound coming from the engine. He did not have time to bring the vehicle back right away on account of having to get to work. The clicking/knocking sound progressively got louder as it was driven. On Dec. 15 he took the vehicle back in and told them of the knocking. They checked the oil and ran a diagnostic on the vehicle, and they stated that everything looked fine on the vehicle. I contacted a ****************************, at *********************** located at ************************************* *******, ** ***** on December 19, and I brought in the vehicle to be checked out on Dec. 21. ***** stated that the vehicle sounds like it was started with no oil in it, and emptied the oil from the engine to check for metal fragments. ***** found only 2 quarts of oil, the oil was black, and there were metal fragments in the oil, confirming that it had been turned on before the oil was added. He stated that he did not think an oil change had been done, and the oil was extremely low. *****'s findings are stated in a file attached, along with photos that he sent of the oil that he drained from the engine. He stated that the metallic streams in the photos are metal fragments. *****'s information is listed on the documents attached.

Jiffy Lube has a posted price (on the wall) for a ******** change of $129 + tax. A few months ago, I went and they said it would be $161, that there was an additional charge because the car (a VW) is European. That was more than $40 higher than the last time I had gotten an oil change for the same car there. They had already started the work before giving me the price, so I had them stop. Figuring that maybe the employee had the price wrong, since it was such a big increase in price, I called last week to verify the price. They said on the phone that it was $129 + tax. I went in last week and the price posted on the wall was $129 + tax. But when I was checking out, they said it was $161. I asked why there was a difference and the employee said it was because the $129 didn't include tax or labor. I pointed to the sign and said that it showed that only the tax wasn't included in the $129 but did not say that labor was separate, and that it seemed unlikely that Jiffy Lube would separate the cost of the oil itself from the cost of oil change, and that $130 for 5-6 quarts of synthetic oil seemed also very unlikely. I noted that the price of an oil change usually includes changing the oil and that it would be odd to have that be a separate fee. I said that I had called in advance to verify the price and the person had quoted me the $129 + tax. I would like for Jiffy Lube to stop charging more for its services than what it says, and to refund people whom it has overcharged. From the Jiffy Lube website: Included in the Jiffy Lube **************************************** with up to five quarts of quality motor oil Oil filter

ON 10/08/2022 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIFFY LUBE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THREE DAYS LATER, WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LITE AND OIL LITE CAME ON AND THE CAR LOST ALL HORSE POWER . I HAD IT TOWED TO ********* AND THEY DID A VISUAL CHECK BECAUSE A TAMPER SEAL WAS IN PLACE. I WAS ASKED TO CALL JIFFY LUBE AND HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE COME AND LOOK AT THE CAR WITH *********. WHEN JIFFY LUBE ARRIVED ********* PULLED THE DRAIN PLUG IN FRONT OF THEM AND FOUND LESS THAN A QUART OF OIL . JIFFY LUBE ASKED FOR A SECOND OPINION. ********* DID A LEAK DOWN TEST. THE RESULT WAS BAD PISTON RINGS BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF OIL. WHEN I FINALLY GOT THROUGH TO CONTACT HIM WITH THE RESULTS (HE WAS VERY UNRESPONSIVE-WOULD NOT TAKE MY CALLS), HE SAID IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT SO THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE. THE REGIONAL DISTRICT MANAGER THAT I WAS DEALING WITH WAS VERY UNRESPONSIVE (I TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO CONTACT HIM) AND HE WAS RUDE. HE ALSO SAID THAT SINCE WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR THREE DAYS, IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE AN OIL CHANGE IS SUPPOSE TO LAST 3000-5000 MILES AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO TRAVEL TO THE ACTIVITIES THAT PROMPTED THE OIL CHANGE.
