      I would like to ask for your help with a storage and moving company that subjected me to harassment, abuse and harm with a recent move. The narrative began over 6 years ago, when I contracted the company to store my belongings until I could find a residence for them to move them to. Having relocated to ********* last year, I contacted them on 15 October for the transport. I was initially ignored and given excuses why delivery would be indefinitely delayed. Upon several attempts to schedule the move, I was quoted over $8,000, more than double any other company. Presenting this, I was told using another provider would cause all my belongings to be thrown on the street and charged $1,500 for doing so. I soon had a severe health episode and had to go to the emergency room, which was later deemed to have caused by acute stress and anxiety and I believe the result of this.I then pleaded with them to lower the price, only to have them agree to an approximate $4,200 charge conditioned on immediate payment within 15 minutes of arrival and without any ability for prior inspection. I was told that failure to make such an immediate payment would result in them placing my items in storage until I paid. Having no other choice and fearing for my things, I paid on arrival on 19 December. I initially found it odd that my things were transported in a U-Haul despite the company having branded trucks. Also, the original wrapping and boxing of most items had been removed. As I was not given the chance to inspect them, they were quickly deposited. Upon them leaving and finally able to inspect the items, I discovered most of my furniture was damaged, numerous items were stolen, and nearly every possession opened without my consent.Contacting the company, I was denied access to a third-party insurance and told they were the insurance company. Since then, they continue to be uncooperative and unwilling to offer me any full compensation for the numerous items damaged and stolen.
