Vintage Auto Body advised that OEM parts wouldn't fit. The shop manager promised he would follow protocol to ensure that genuine Audi parts would be requested via an insurance supplement so that the cost of these parts would be authorized/covered by insurance and then genuine Audi parts that fit would be installed on my vehicle. Vehicle with the shop on 8/14 and since no communication from the shop, I ASSUMED supplements submitted to and paid by State Farm paying out an additional $3,000 were for Audi parts. I called to check on the vehicle and was advised accordingly. After 30 days, I finally went pick up my vehicle on Saturday, 9/7. Upon driving it, I noticed an unusually large gap where windshield meets hood. I inspected and the hood didn't fit the car! In fact, due to the hood being so large, it hung over the edge of the grill/headlights. I immediately called shop manager, returned the vehicle and asked for my cashier's check to be returned to me immediately. He disclosed that an OEM hood and bumper had been put on. A rubber seal was installed under front hood to fill gap. Another gap where hood meets glass, I could physically put my hand inside the hood without opening it. The additional money from State Farm totaling almost $3,000, they fraudulently requested the replacement of a $1,200 right headlamp assembly (this wasn't hit in the accident, was fully functional/operational, and was noted as such with photos, etc. in two other estimates obtained before leaving my vehicle with Vintage) that DID NOT need to be replaced. So, they changed a genuine Audi part with something reconditioned. The subsequent supplements requested were for other OEM parts that were to fit the OEM hood as the Audi grill, etc. didn't fit the OEM hood.

    Hello,

We wrote our Original estimate for all OEM Parts and sent this off to State Farm Insurance Co. they came back mandating AFTERMARKET HOOD & BUMPER Which S***t went over with Jennifer on 7/31/2024, after fitting the Hood to the car without Bumper or grille it seemed to fit properly, However we never thought to sit in the drivers seat where there is a gap and once grille and Bumper installed Hood seemed to hang over grille and Bumper a little Bit . Jennifer was the one that noticed this. as for the Headlamp it was not fine it had a broken tab and needed replacement. we ordered a reconditioned headlamp which is usually OEM made to look new again with nothing broken and has a 1 year warranty. we had submitted a supplement to State Farm on 9/23/24 and were paid only $314.94 Just the difference of OEM Hood and No additional Paint labor, we were asking for an additional $2794.35 for a factory Hood and time to paint and polish it. so far State Farm has not agreed to this. Jennifer has filed a claim with the Dept of Insurance and we have been Helping her as much as we could. Last time we spoke she said it could take 3-4 weeks to get an answer from DOI and decided to pick up her Audi. as far as we knew we are waiting on the judgment from DOI. I will include photo's of Headlamp damaged and our original estimate.
