    dear BBB please revoke this company BBB listing, I called to have my AC checked pre-season, tech arrived 3 hours late, andtested system, found failed part, claim part cost $200 to $800, and couldn't test further, so i asked fpr repair quote ( never recieved ) and replacement quote..
    they sent salesman who then tried to claim that AC life is just a few years, gave way overpriced $10000 and then also tried to upsell, un-needed heat system for a total of $15000 ok if that's what your price is.
    had SECOND COMPANY to also give quote tech found same failed part, and replaced with one he had.. AC RUNNING!!!! total cost $120 cost of part , just under $12 on Amazon .. so there you have it, the business practice exposed. your choice - it's clear to me, they shouldn't have a BBB endorsement
    I certify, the above is factual, and I will submit to lie detector test

    Hi J****,
    My name is Nate, and I’m the General Manager here at Wightons. I wanted to personally follow up regarding your recent review and the experience you had with our team. I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I’d like the opportunity to provide some clarification and context.
    Your initial call was received on 5/13 and lasted approximately 16 minutes. During this call, you mentioned that your system was working properly and requested a pre-season A/C check-up. Our team scheduled a visit for 5/15, which was completed within the confirmed time window. We maintained communication throughout with courtesy text messages, and our technician arrived on time.
    Upon inspection, it was found that your system was not functioning correctly. The technician diagnosed the issue—specifically, that your capacitor had failed and was reading zero microfarads, meaning the system was not operable. This diagnosis was explained to you both verbally and through emailed quotes, which were viewed during the appointment.
    We provided two repair options:
    * **Good:** $200
    * **Better:** $400
    Both were fully itemized and included quality parts along with our standard 1-year warranty on parts and labor. I did not find any estimate in the $800 range.
    Given the age of your system (over 15 years), our technician also offered to schedule a visit with one of our comfort advisors, should you be interested in exploring energy-efficient replacement options. You agreed, and from all feedback received, that appointment was handled professionally and informatively.
    After reviewing the entire service interaction, I believe the appointment should have been scheduled as a diagnostic service call rather than a maintenance visit, given the system was not operational.
    You also noted that you had just purchased the property. It’s possible the issue went undetected during the home inspection process, which is unfortunate.
    We pride ourselves on using high-quality parts—not aftermarket or low-grade replacements—and on delivering responsive, five-star service. Our pricing reflects this commitment, along with our warranty and availability, including after-hours and holiday support.
    Lastly, I attempted to reach out personally by phone to discuss this with you directly. Unfortunately, the call ended as soon as I introduced myself and was hung up on. I was hoping to have a productive conversation.
    Despite this experience, I wish you all the best moving forward and am still open to connecting if you’d like to discuss this further.
    Sincerely,
    Nate M.
    General Manager

    Customers Beware: I recently called Wighton's auto replace a toilet flushing kit and a leaky cold water tap at the washing machine. Technician J* arrived, and he quickly agreed with my assessment. He gave me an estimate of $625.00! I expressed how expensive that was. He said I could call the manager and talk to him about it and then he reminded me that I already have to pay his service fee, $90, if he didn't fix. He had all the part needed on the truck. J* was here for just under an hour. After telling several of my mobile home park neighbors, they all exclaimed what an I went on the internet and priced toilet flushing kits, anywhere from $9.99 to $60.00. Pricing the compression valve at the cold water tap, according to internet searches, could be up to $50 to $60.00. TOTAL PARTS, approximately $100. My bill was $665! Subtract out the $100.00 for parts and I paid $525 for Labor. I texted and emailed Wighton's 3 different times for an explanation and an itemized bill for parts and labor. After 2 weeks and 3 attempts to get an answer they sent me a text explaining their business model is very transparent but they don't itemize, they operator on a flat rate pricing model to simplify things and allows them to provide cost effective pricing to their valued customers. Cost effective for who? Transparent? Their flat rate to change the toilet flushing kit was $247.26 and the cold water tap valve, $377.80. I should have done what technician JP told me: pay the $90 service fee: send him on his way and find someone else. Fair warning. I I'm also looking into filing with the FTC. I'm 80 years old and live in a mobile home park and have notified all my neighbors and friend togo elsewhere for their plumbing needs. Frankly I feel that this is despicable price gouging and close to financial elder abuse, so many of us are on fixed incomes. Don't be a fool like me. No one at Wighton's and their families would think $550 for labor is any where close to fair

    Do not use this company. They installed the new hot water heater did not connect the vent pipes correctly. They separated, and nearly burnt the house down. After weeks of emails and phone calls they finally came out to repair and replace the siding. In doing so they had to disconnect the heater vent pipe also and broke it. That was a Friday, said they would be back on Monday to reconnect it for my 98-year-old mother they never showed never called, we cancelled an appointment so we would be home. said they would be the next day never cameI called them again then they said it would be a week as they were busy. we waited the week and another week they never came never called. They left this 98-year-old woman with no heat for weeks. We finally had to pay out-of-pocket to someone else $5000 to do it, do not use this company

    Stay away from these people I had Wightons come out to a rental of mine made the appointment, and they never showed I had called the office to ask where they were. They said they were on their way They even said they left a message for him, but no one ever showed, and my tenant was desperately in need of a new heater very unprofessional and their fees are astronomical This was in the dead of winter, 2023

    Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
    Fast and friendly customer service makes it an easy appointment process. Recurring service and repair specials makes it affordable.
    C**** arrived and went straight to work. His extensive knowledge allowed to easily recognize the type of heating system I was using. Because of the age of the system, he provided the best financial options to either replace or repair. I highly recommend Wightons for all your plumbing, heating and AC needs.

    After reading the other reviews I feel lucky that I got off for only $742. This is what Wightons charged to unclog my toilet. The technician was at the house for about half an hour. Simple auger.
    This company is unethical and untrustworthy. They also suggested that the toilets needed to be replaced. Little did they know the toilets were new.
