      Tackle Warehouse use to be my go-to online fishing store. Over the last 6 years I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on rods, reels and fishing tackle. for the most part the experience has been good. Occasionally I have an item or two missing when I place a large order. Usually when this happens, I call customer service and let them know what was missing and without hesitation they send out the missing items and everything is good. This past week I ordered a new rod, reel, fishing line, and a t-shirt. This was almost a $600 dollar order. On delivery day the fishing rod shows up in its own rod tube which is typical, and I also had a small box which was the other items. When I opened the small box, it was missing the fishing reel, which was the most expensive item in the box around $235. So, like I have done in the past I call Tackle Warehouses customer service to let them know what was missing. Once on the phone they took my information and said that before they could send out the missing item, they needed to check their inventory, and they would call me right back in approximately 20 minutes. I was understanding and just sat back waiting for them to call back. Well 20 minutes comes and goes, and they never called or emailed me. So, frustrated I gave it time and called back the following day. I end up talking to the same guy as the day before and he tells me that their inventory all checked out and that the item was in the box, and they can't send me anything or issue a credit. So basically, I'm screwed. Also, since they tell me the item was in the box, I'm apparently, they think I'm lying about the whole thing. The only thing they said I can do is call my bank and request a charge back. So, because someone didn't put the item in the box, and their inventory was probably screwed up anyways, I have to deal with calling the bank with hopes of getting my money back. I guess it is what it is, but they lost my thousands of dollars a year in business over a $235 item.

      Nothing has changed. Customer service is still horrible. Its a total pass-the-buck system. Be accountable, I think that's all the average customer asks. If you have a customer service agent promise a customer something, then you need to do everything you can to deliver on that promise. It doesn't work for a manager to try to walk back what was promised. I will continue to do whatever I can to fill my fishing needs elsewhere and will warn everyone I can about the poor business practices.

      Tackle Warehouse is my go to company for my bass fishing needs.I have done business with them for years, and have very few times when I needed to contact them.The few times I needed anything, the issue was handled to my complete satisfaction.They also have a great selection of products and provide valuable knowledge on their site. ********* B
