      I am filing this complaint against California-West, Inc. regarding the improper handling of my security deposit after my tenancy at 215 South D St, Lompoc, CA, 93436. My experience has been marked by unprofessional behavior and a lack of accountability.

      Move-In Condition: When I moved in over 10 years ago, the property was unacceptable—filthy blinds, stained carpets, broken doorknobs, and general disrepair. The landlord clearly did not prepare the property adequately for new tenants.

      Neglect of Responsibilities: Throughout my tenancy, the landlord ignored numerous safety issues, including outlets that sparked, broken light fixtures, as well as several non-functional outlets.

      Plumbing Issues: I faced persistent plumbing problems, including blockages that caused recurring bathroom backups, which remained unresolved for years.

      Unfair Charges: After moving out, I was charged for door handles that were already broken when I moved in, while the landlord kept a privacy fence my husband installed, with no acknowledgment of our efforts.

      Legal Noncompliance: California Civil Code § 1950.5 mandates that security deposits must be returned within 21 days. The final charge list was dated September 13, 2024, violating this law.

      Blocked Communication: California-West, Inc. has blocked my email to prevent communication, exacerbating an already tense situation.

      I purchased a Townhome here in what we call Skyhaus Community. Just last week, after 2.5 years the Plumbing Hardware fell off in my hand when I tried to load water in either bathroom sink.

      Now I can't use the sink to save water, shave, etc. etc.

      It is unbelievable that they installed such GARBAGE and walked away...KNOWING it would break within a short amount of time.

      Perhaps they have no concept of what quality really is....OR they just buy JUNK and STICK US with the Bill.

      Reasonable breakage I can understand...but not the STOPPER ON A SINK.

      If you inspect the attached pictures you can see that there was almost no soldering done and was probably just Glued together.

      As far as I am concerned THEY NEED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

      Can you imagine how many other members of this community are having (or already have had this problem)?

      Today Builders can just install JUNK and walk away....hoping it outlasts the Warranty.

      I will NEVER purchase any homes they build anymore.
