Company refused to provide detailed breakdown of account so I can't file for IRS rebate on solar system. Also failed to apply for building permit until after the construction was finished. State building inspector identified a problem which has not been rectified. Original job bid included a carport to put panels on but when plan was switched to rooftop mount bid wasn't adjusted. They failed to provide warranty for roof replacement and skylight replacement.

At the time of contract and installation, I was guaranteed that I would not reserve a true-up bill and that the company would cover it if I did. I reserved an $800 true-up bill, and now Llume is refusing to pay it and ignoring me.

Ilum Solar does not have a no true up guarantee or promise on any of it's literature or contracts. There are a lot of variables and factors that effect having a true up that are out of our control such as weather, Utility rate changes, and changes in home's consumption patterns.
Attached is the proposal that was presented and on the last page at the bottom there is a disclaimer stating everything on the proposal is an estimate.

My complaint is against Ilum Solar and I will file a separate complaint agains Enphase, they used Enphase solar panels, batteries and micro-inverters. The panels were installed in June 2023. There are 28 panels and I purchased two batteries that cost nearly $20,000, total cost of the system is more than $67,000. The company salesman said I would not have electric bills over $50.0 per month from SCE. I have an email from Edison that I already owe $330 for this month, not to mention the payment I have to make on the solar equipment $272 per month for 25 years. The system failed inspection twice. I was promised that tiles on my roof would not be removed, they were. Most of the expensive tiles are missing. Ilum claimed they used them during my installation. It was made very clear to Ilum when I came home to find my tiles being torn off the roof that they were to be saved. Their own employee says obviously many tiles are missing. There were leaks into the inside of the house after installation. The system actually became active in the beginning of October. The batteries would not charge, finally they charged and would not discharge, then they discharged during the daytime instead of during peak, they were charging from the grid instead of the solar panels. Now the micro-inverters have failed. There are reports online of Enphase micro-inverter failure from solar companies across the nation. The solar production from the solar panels is substandard. Twenty panels in the back of the house are installed flat when they were to be at a slight angle. I am on the phone with Enphase support most days, several times a day. My cell phone records will be testimony to that. This solar dilemma is very stressful and time consuming. Enphase directs me back to Ilum Solar. Most phone calls to Ilum are never returning. The person that is supposed to be my contact tells me she is too busy to talk to me and she is "picking up her kids from school". I am 71 living on SS.

Solar panels not working. Called in July about them and it has been 2 months since I called and haven’t been fixed yet. During the hot summer my electricity bill has been high and have told them about it and have said they will call back but nothing. Called Edison about it and apparently my solar been down for a while and I been paying out of pocket. I will just like some compensation and panels to be working to save on electricity.

    Business Response

We replaced the faulty Solaredge inverter and the system is now working and producing power. The inverter that failed (Solaredge) is experiencing extremely long delays (45+ days) to warranty faulty inverters, so Ilum Solar went and purchased a new inverter to not keep the customer waiting for the warrantied inverter to arrive.
