*************************** property manager has my car towed away. My car had its tags and we pay for our parking. When we asked her why she did it she played stupid and towed us she did not know why. She disrespected my wife and is refusing to give me my car back, give me where my car is at. She is not even trying to communicate with me. I should not have to pay since it was there fault. It was illigal what she did. ******* has been harassing my family in numerous ways she has done one illigal thing after another. One lie after another. Another thing they have done is taken advantage of us and kept our pet deposit when we have always had service animals. It is illigal to keep our money. They continue to cause my wife to have ptsd. The property manager continues to be racist/vulgar/controlling and abusive against us. They are not trust worthy they say one thing and continue to do the opposite of what she says.

      Hello,

We apologize for any delay in responding to this BBB complaint. After reviewing this residents comments with the team at The *******, we can confirm this residents vehicle was towed due to expired tags, which violates our parking policy. We also feel its important to reiterate that we have not charged them for pet rent due to their *** animal; however, we do not reimburse pet deposits until after move-out to ensure there isnt any pet damage. Lastly, the management team has tried contacting this resident to discuss their concerns but has been unsuccessful in getting in touch with them. If they have any questions, theyre encouraged to contact The ******* directly at *****************************************.

      Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: First of all it is illegal to charge a deposit for a working animal look it up yourself.

Second of all ******* has abused her authority and they have not returned any calls that we have placed to them, they are hiding. Second of all we did not have expired tags DmV can verify this . Third of all the maintained men just walks into our unit whiteout no notice but when he feels like it.  Just today they towed another poor persons vehicle they have tried to tow my vehicle also when I have no expired tags and the security guard is always up to no good hiding behind cars and trying to cause trouble.

      Sincerely,

      ******************

My name is ******************************** III, and on August 5, 2022, I toured the Essex property the Avant located in Downtown *********** and had begun the application process shortly thereafter. To date I have yet to receive a response from Management regarding the next steps and all attempts to communicate with the leasing office both verbally and via email have failed. The following text is an excerpt from an email sent to Essex on August 5, 2022, regarding the next steps that I have yet to receive a response from. ****Hey *****, I just completed the tour. I viewed units A707, B209, and B616. Out of the three I preferred Unit A 707 as it has a balcony and the other two units would be out of the price range of the housing voucher. I went to the website and noticed that several other units are listed as available but upon entering the property were not informed. Based off the web Units B307, A707, and A703 are currently available. According to the website my preferred Unit A707 starts at $2,345 and Unit B307 not seen begins at $1965.00 well within the voucher issued by the *******************. Is it possible to view Unit B307 or do you have any real time pictures of the unit for review? In the meantime, as explained yesterday I attempted to start the application process but ran into internal server errors as reported by the website. Attached is a copy of the voucher issued by the ******************* for your review. Let me know what the next steps are and I'll get back to you shortly.****As I chose this property for various reasons the time taking to communicate with this property is taking away from the possibility of I having to choose a different location. A proper response would be nice.

Providing responsive and helpful customer service is our top priority, so were sorry to learn this prospective resident had a less than ideal experience throughout our leasing process. After reviewing his comments with the team, we can confirm our team communicated any issues regarding his application on 8/8. When he submitted his initial application, there was an error because the unit he was applying for was already leased, and he needed to submit a new application. This prospective resident followed up with the team on 8/10 about his application; however, the team still had not received his application. This prospective resident recently had another tour on 8/11 to view apartments that fall within his voucher rate allowance and is encouraged to continue to work with the team directly at ******************************** if he has further questions.

My lease is expiring and Ive provided notice that I will be moving out but I was also informed that if circumstances changed I could still notify them to extend my lease. Since Friday 7/29 I have called and left multiple messages asking for them to get back to me and leaving explicit details of what I want to do. Ive also emailed and sent messages through their website but I have still not received any correspondence back. Their offices are open over the weekend meaning it has been more than 48 hours since I first contacted them and this could have an impact on my living situation with a family 4. Please help to reach out to them to have them contact me immediately. Also in the past they charged me fees without first notifying me or disclosing to me prior to me paying them. I did dispute this with them but they never did anything to make it right.
