My name is ****** ****. I own The Root Health and Wellness, in Oneonta *******. I called and requested information about the Atlanta Womans show. I spoke to ***, and told her everything that my company does. We offer Bio-Energetic testing on clients. We scan clients and detect deficiencies in things like vitamins, minerals, hormones, etc. *** said that would be wonderful, that some similar businesses would be there, but not doing the same thing. We spent $1400 on the booth, (for a high traffic) (we were in the worst spot) We get there, set up. Immediately a DJ blasts music where you have to scream in people's ear just to relay small messages. We were 100 percent unable to operate as a business. We had people interested, that just couldn't get tested. All together we lost around $3000 because we weren't told the truth. Several other vendors complained around us. It was so bad, we left 2 hours into the show on Sunday. I feel very mislead, and feel like everyone should know that tglhe Atlanta show is just a large dance party atmosphere, and business isn't taken seriously.Business Response

When an exhibitor arrives to check in and recieve their lanyards and collateral material, and booth location, they sign a form, attached, showing that they recieved all of the set up information which includes the event managers cell phone and text number. Mr. ****** signature is clearly shown on the form, indicating he recieved the welcome letter, which includes directions to the booth in the lobby, and the event managers contact information, for any questions or cornerns during the Expo. We did not recieve a text, call nor did he come out into the lobby to complain about his perceived "noise" It should also be noted that out of 312 exhibitors, his is the only noise compaint and if he had this issue during the Expo, we could have recificited it had he let us know. We offered him a complimentary upgrade if he decides to join the Expo again, but truly, he could have just spoken to us while he was there rather than taking advantage of the booth for the weekend and then complaining later.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:They can say they give you information, i wasnt given anything. I may have signed something, as the ladies were really busy, and we had to be in line to setup, as securoty is ******* us to move our vehicles. I was neve given a phone number, or any other information. As a matter of fact, i sent a series of emails to the lady that i booked with. She declined to respond until i blatently asked "if she was ignoring me"
This show is ab absolute joke. I went to the ladies Sunday, and asked them how i can leave early. They told me that i could not. I left anyway. Im not wasting more of my time at the dance party that they advertise as a womans show. I had to **** all of my tables up, all of my equipment, products, papers, banners, chairs, printers, etc and walk them up and put to the parking deck as the dock was closed. THAT IS HOW BAD THE SHOW WAS.
It is shameful that they cannot own up to their failures, as MANY other vendors openly complained. I lost several thousand dollars attending this event. I am in no way open to coming to another , not even with complementary service, hotel, food etc. It just is not a fit for ehat we do.
I hope that an agreement can be reached. It isn't fair for a small business to be misled in this manner. This is how I feed my family, and this directly effected that.
Respectfully,
****** ****Business Response

Mr **** can allege anything he wants, but his allegations of noise are simply not true. I checked with our onsite team and they didnt have any comments or issues that were brought to their attention during the event regarding noise or music, and we continue to use a noise dosimeter to register sound levels to ensure exhibitors, and speakers, are able to communicate effectively and the dosimeter is managed by our dedicated onsite staff. We also checked or text app that we provided to all exhibitors for any onsite issues and didnt have any concerns registered during the weekend regarding noise levels or issues. If there was an issue, he could have voiced his concerns to the on site team in the lobby, or with one of the show managers that walk the floor all day, and it would have been recified. Further, the loading dock is closed until the move out hours, to ensure nothing is lost or stolen. it is for every exhibitors protection. After three decades of producing the event, our goal is to have all our exhibitors benefit from a positive experience, but with over 350 exhibitors at each Expo, its just not possible. He was the only complaint, and we wish him success with his other events.Initial Complaint

First of all, I contracted with this company as a vendor for the Ultimate Women's Expo, who promised a a high-end clientele that would attend. First of all, they also co-host the Great Food Expo which was NEVER disclosed to us in our contract with them. I had to vend while people were lined up for free samples of food, and then would come to us and say they could not spend any money since they spent all their money on food. I understand the *** can not guarantee what kind of clientele would show up, and I should have known better, but trusted them since it has been around for 30 years. I was duped. I should have searched reviews and complaints prior to vending, and that is my fault. However, they should absolutely disclose that I would be vending among FOOD VENDORS. I had clients trying to ******* us for free stuff, asking to take items, and trying to barter with me (and my friend who shared a booth with me) as if we were at a yard sale. We made 1/3 of what we spent on our booth. Also, there were hawkers the ENTIRE time, even though we complained to security. It was right in front of our booth and really lowers the "quality" of the event we thought we signed up for.Business Response

****************** shared a booth with one of her friends, and the two of them were the only complaints (out of 450 exhibitors) at the Expo. We're not quire sure how she didn't know that the two Expos take place at the same location, as it is on the website, and is advertised as two great events, one amazing weekend. Here's the website link, ***************************************************; We cant imagine that any exhibitor wouldn't be happy to have the double the attendance and the idea that she was "swindled" by attendees, and misled by us, is really shocking. She also claims that people were in line to purchase food and that bothered her, and yet, she was completely on the other side of the convention center, and food wasn't even near her booth. Celebrating our 30th year producing Women's Expos throughout the country, we know that we cant make everyone happy--we do our best, but some people will find anything to complain about, utilize the booth for the entire weekend and then complain afterwards and expect a refund. We are unable to provide her with a refund for services she utilized for the weekend, and am sorry she didn't get the success she hoped for.

I signed up under my business name Happy Hour Gummies to be a vendor at 2 separate events, The Ultimate Women's Expo in ****** ** and the Great Food Expo in ****** **. I was unaware that the events were connected. To sign up I contacted each entity separately, using separate email addresses **************************** and *****.*******@thewomensexpo.com.***** from the great food expo gave me details about the food event and ***** gave me details about the women's expo.I sent in my payments for both events. The events were held at the ** convention center in *********. On multiple occasions I have been a vendor with other organizations and there would be other events happening in other spaces at the convention center. With the Food Expo and the Women Expo it was listed separately. On set up day, I was informed that the 2 events were combined. They both were held in on room. I was shocked and confused since I had contracted with both to be a vendor. To make matters worse, I was told that they did NOT receive payment for the food expo event, I was told that I ONLY paid for the women's expo. This is absolutely not the case. I showed them my bank transfer information and it shows ***** transfers to both email addresses. The event went on, I worked as a vendor with one spot, and not 2 as expected.*****, who introduced himself as the head of the events said everything would be resolved on Monday 10/23. I was told that I would receive a refund once they fully checked their records. Today is Thursday, I have left multiple voicemails and sent emails to *****. All have gone unanswered. I contacted my bank, **** of America and they stated the funds were sent to Republic **** under the Great Food Expo name.I want a full and complete refund. I was totally mislead. I planned and had expenses for 2 separate events, I was scammed. As well as friends I invited, they paid 2 separate entry fees for each event. The promoters pulled a switch and bait.Business Response

The client had spoken with us after the Expo, and said that she was reaching out to the BBB to update that she had made a mistake, was having a bad day and had mistakenly thought she paid for two Expos. When we showed her the receipts, she realized she was wrong and told us she was contacting the BBB to rectify her error.

Beware of the Ultimate Women's Expo. I signed up for the The Ultimate Womens Expo in ******* on Dec 3rd and 4th. My recent experience at the Women's Expo left me feeling taken advantage of. Despite being promised a high-end female demographic eager to invest in services, products, and experiences for themselves or their loved ones - I was met with underwhelming attendance figures considering our citys position as 4th largest in the US; this ultimately translated into minuscule sales numbers throughout my entire two day there. This was a sentiment echoed by many vendors those two days. Our sales reps promised thousands of shoppers and that was far from reality. I may have seen 200 people walk by, not thousands. This event was very much mis-represented and was NOT marketed. It wasnt even listed as an event on the ******************************************* calendar. I asked the few people that walked up to my booth how they founds the event and they all told me that they were simply walking by the convention center. Not one said that they heard or saw an advertisement. Their social media account shows minimal interactions and they only have two postings about the event. We were all told that this event was not only a shopping event but a day of amazing speakers and activities. I walked by the presenters stage on day one and there was a monk speaking to 4 people that were sitting in the audience. Some of which were not even paying attention. I think they were resting. Dont be fooled by this event! Hundreds of vendors lost thousands of dollars and the company is refusing to issue refunds. Im personally down $5500.Business Response

There was absolutely no fraudulent activities associated with the ******* Womens Expo. The definition of fraud is intentionally deceptive action; there was absolutely no intended deception fraud associated with the ******* Womens Expo.
The ******* Womens Expo was advertised the exact same way it has been for the past 12 years, same weekend, same venue. We know that in any marketing endeavor there is never a guarantee of success, and success from one year does not guarantee success the next year. We invested very heavily in social media expenditures and deployed the same advertising campaign as we have in previous years here in *******. Our eBlast Campaign also includes ****** subscribers that have previously attended the Expo or have joined our VIP Club and we also advertised to these subscribers and members both via dedicated eBlast campaigns and via direct mail campaigns.
If our intent was to defraud, we would have never flown in well-known celebrity Keynote Speakers that have a combined social media following of 24 (twenty-four) million followers, paid to rent the convention center, plus services, paid for a lighting and sound staging company to truck in the equipment from across the country, hired a professional general service contractor and labor to set up the exhibit booths, ordered customized PVC signage with the company names of our exhibitors, insurance for the Expo and the extraordinary overhead costs to produce the event and provide a professional environment. Just like any live event, our expectation on attendance can only be predicted based on previous actuals in the same market, which is exactly what we did since we have been in this community for years with previous success. As we indicated during our phone conversation last week, if we had never previously produced the ******* Womens Expo, or had never held the Expo at the ****************** or had never held the Expo during the fall season you could claim that we just made up expectations on its success or average attendance, but this event has taken place before in same venue with results that have previously been consistent based on the very same advertising campaign and methods, which is exactly what we utilized to predict our results for this year.
There is an inherent risk with any marketing effort, whether you advertise on television, newspapers, or online, and this is why we have used the same standard industry contract for live events that clearly indicates we cannot guarantee attendance. We never ever set out to produce an unsuccessful event for our exhibitors; we have taken pride in producing professional events over 30 years that introduce small business entrepreneurs to network with other entrepreneurs and to meet new repeat clients, and the devastation that falling short of our previously results in ******* is incomparable. Although we strive for 100% exhibitor satisfaction, we know that after three decades unfortunately there are too many variables to ensure every exhibitor realizes the same success. Youve mentioned reviews of other events that took place over the past 30 years and less than ***** of the total number of exhibitors over this timeframe that didnt realize success from their Expo, although extremely disheartening, is a very small margin of the total number of events and vendors, in light of the fact that most vendors dont utilize an unvetted source of reviews.Initial Complaint

******************************* reached out to me regarding a paid one-time opportunity to attend a local convention and collect handouts. I purchased a ticket to the convention and covered all shipping expense with the expectations that I would be compensated. Now that it has been months since the check was allegedly mailed, I decided to look up the company for the company name. None of them at businesses and the address used in 2019 and 2022 appears to be a residential property with changing building and suite numbers. When called the numbers, they differed the written communications.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:On November 4th, I texted ****** at *************, Sorry to bother you again but I still have not received payment for this job. I followed by calling the number in her email signature assigned to Great Food Expo ************* which leads to no human or operator response. At 3:47pm, I made two calls to the 501 area code number. To this date, I have not heard from this company regarding payment by any means of communication. I searched the addresses used in the communications and the build does not seem to be associated to any company. I have ownership to both properties and there has not been any incoming mail from this company since this job was completed. I have receipts of all communication if needed.

Perhaps someone at BBB should try calling the number ************ which has a voicemail and is answered during regular business hours of 9-5 M-F. Second, she apparently transposes the phone numbers, as she lists a 510 number and then a 501 number. Either way, she is complaining about another company, the Great Food Expo and using our BBB page to do so. Doesn't BBB read any of this and make sure its accurate before someone attempts to hurt our reputation and is completely confused?Initial Complaint

Although the signed agreement is very clear about refunds and payments, we did make an exception since this client did not want to travel. There is a $45.00 fee to cancel her agreement which covers the cost of the signage that was printed prior to her deciding not to travel. We're not quite sure what she is referring to about being blocked from calling as our call logs indicate that we have had numerous phone conversations with her. After being in business for 30 years, the one time we make an exception for a client and she still isn't happy. We didn't have an obligation to refund her payment, per the terms of the contract.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I did not cancel the event was suppose to be held October 1-2 and the date was moved by the Ultimate Women's Expo ******* to 2023, so I requested my money back and was only given $1,250 when I paid $1,290, it also states no where in the contract of a $45.00 cancellation fee. therefore it will cost them more in the long run because I plan to take them to court regarding the $45 they did not return to me.

There are only so many times you can write the same thing, tell the client the same thing on the phone and email the client before you just have to stop engaging. Her story changes every time she tells it. We have a business to run, and thousands of clients to work with, who continue to come back year after year, event after event, because there is no better way to grow your business than to get t in front of thousands of women at a Women's Expo., We have tried to take the high road, but at this point, just need to focus on the good in the world. We wish the client many blessings with her business.

Hello my name is *********************** and Im reaching out because I signed up to do a event with the Ultimate Woman Expo in 2021 thinking I was really joining a powerful women's movement. Later to find out it's not even ran by women. This one time $3300.00 has costed much more in the end. I have reached out survival of time hoping that Ultimate Women's Expo would resolved this issue, yet it only end with me making recordings on how this company blocked my phone number. I have to speak up at this point cause it me today and some other businesses tomorrow being token advantage of. I informed ****** from day one what I was looking for on my business journey, and that was to connect my business in with other women businesses. And not one time did this man inform me that the owners was men. I only learned after the nightmare started. *** switched the first date without informing me to a week earlier, which automatically made them breach of contract. I was upset but still tried to make the best out of it for my business sake. To later be told after I paid Upack and movers to get the containers ready to be shipped from ******** to Ga that it was canceled once again. Ultimate Women's Expo scheduled the event a totally of ********** and when I couldn't make the new date they refused to issue me a refund are even give me a choice of a new date of my choice as I was giving when I signed the contract. If the company couldn't pull a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute for me, how can they expect me to. This whole experience has been a nightmare and really effected me mentally. Between the mold on my item from being stored because I had no other choice other then to allow the company to store the items, the plane tickets cost for my team, and deposits to even book the team has costed me more then any business would bargain for. I'm a very understanding person, yet to be thrown to the side after I invested into my business has been a very heart breaking experience.Business Response
