Date: January, 2023 Work to be preformed: Insulation of our home to prevent frozen pipes Paid: $7200 Requested full refund prior of the work to be performed: 1. Sales person (********) used a thermo-imaging device to convince us that the original builders of the home, built around ****, failed to insulate two walls in the home, one facing north and one facing west. A subsequent investigation by a professional contractor found that, in fact, the walls were insulated. 2. The sales person assured us that they use only their own employees to perform the work but we subseqently discovered that they planned to use a third party contractor to perform our work. We asked specifically that they use only their own employees, 3. Upon our written cancellation notice, we spoke with their office manager and had a subsequent conversation with the sales person and requested a full refund despite their policy of a 20% cancelation notice after 3 days. We were falsely led to believe that the home was not insulated and it turned out not to be true and we signed a contract under those false pretenses. We also recognized, as did the sales person, that they had no money invested in any special ordered product or services and in good faith should provide a full refund. The sales person said he would speak with '***' one of the owners, and thought they could 'do something' for us. Note: The sales person also said, that he showed me the thermo-imaging view and demonstrated that we had no insulation. The professional contractor simply took off an electrical outlet cover and we could see the wall as insulated. They refunded 80% of our payment and we are seeking the $20% representing about $1400 or a full refund.
