    On May 11, 2024, I visited ****************************** located at ************************************************************************************************ with the intention of exchanging dollars for pesos. Prior to entering, the business prominently advertised a buy rate of ****** and a sell rate of ****** per dollar. Upon entering, I engaged with an attendant and inquired about the buy rate, to which she confirmed the rate displayed on the exterior signage verbatim. Subsequently, I proceeded with the service by providing the requested identification and pertinent information, along with tendering the funds. After recording my details and counting the money, the attendant issued a document displaying a rate consistent with the advertised rates, but also included an undisclosed exchange fee of 11 cents per dollar. This fee had not been visibly/clearly displayed on the exterior signs nor was it verbally disclosed prior to the transaction initiation, as I had asked questions upon entering. Upon querying this additional charge, I was informed of its existence. However, as this information was disclosed and not transparently communicated beforehand, I promptly expressed my decision to decline the service. Despite not having received any pesos and with my American currency still in their possession, I encountered resistance in retrieving my funds. The attendant cited the irreversible entry of data into the system and issuance of documentation as grounds for refusal to return my money, a policy conspicuously absent from any in-store disclosures. This lack of transparency and refusal to accommodate cancellation prior to completion of the transaction is deeply disconcerting. I came to find that there are analogous complaints documented on Yelp, suggesting a recurrent issue with disclosure practices at this establishment. Such conduct not only undermines the integrity of the exchange process but also raises concerns regarding the vulnerability of unsuspecting patrons.
