It is completely unacceptable what your company has done to me. You have caused me great emotional and mental stress over this disaster. I want to know specifically how you obtained my address, and how you think its okay to send that to me saying that Ive been sued, and mix me up with someone else. I also find it extremely unacceptable how your phone *** rudely hung up on me. I plan on filing a grievance with the NY state *************************** over what you all have done. Immediately let me know how you got my address and never send me anything like that again.  see attached screenshots. I am hereby requesting you immediately remove my address of ********************************************* from your system.I am also requesting a reply to this email with the following: 1. confirming you received it, 2. have acknowledged I have nothing to do with this, 3. and furthermore that you will completely remove me from this case as I have no association with it. I will be contacting a lawyer about this and informing them how my name got caught up in this from this debt collection agency, Countrywide Debt Relief / Velocity Investments.

Contacted Countrywide Debt Relief/*************** April 2024. After consideration, I asked a lot of questions never having been in this situation before. I was told a settlement with each of my creditors (4)would reach a settlement with each of them withing 6 months. I decided to proceed. After signing up, $481.89 per mo was drafted from my account. After 3 months, I called to check on progress. They only negotiated w/ 1 creditor so far, which was *********. The following month, there was still no progress with the other 3 creditors. I was never provided straight answers after every call & was left feeling unsettled. I requested to speak with a supervisor, (***** Z, ************************* I was also told my other creditors have not responded to their settlement request. After 7 months of them drawing $481.89 from my account ($3,373.23 total), there was nearly no progress. Contacting ***** again, she advised me the creditors have not responded to their settlement. After months of this, I took matters into my own hands. I called each of my accounts, found out that Countrywide did not contact any of my creditors, they only received a ceased & desist letter! As upsetting as this was, I negotiated a settlement with my creditors and paid them off. However, before working with my creditors, and still working with *****, I asked for my account to be escalated. She said shed bring this to the attention of their legal counsel. A week later, I received an email with a breakdown of my charges, see attached. After reviewing the breakdown, I tried calling several times. Each time being forwarded to VM as they screen their calls. Bottom line, only 1 creditor was partially settled, the remainder of my money was claimed to go to their customer fees, which doesnt seem correct. Also, it seems once I started to figure out their business practices, they wouldnt communicate with me. I would like to have a *** from BBB contact me so I can explain in further detail.

      Complaint Review Summary

      Program Enrollment Details
      - Enrollment Date: April 24, 2024
      - Program Type: Debt Resolution
      - Number of Creditors: 4
      - Total Enrolled Debt: $32,062
      - Original Program Term: 60 months

      Program Activity
      - Client completed 6 monthly payments
      - Successfully negotiated and settled with 1 creditor
      - Client requested early settlement of remaining creditors
      - Program cancellation initiated by client

      Resolution Explanation
We were unable to fulfill the client's request for immediate settlement of all remaining creditors due to the following:

      1. The program was specifically structured for a 60-month repayment term
      2. Accelerated settlements for all creditors within 6 months would deviate from:
         - Original program terms
         - Established payment schedule
         - Available settlement funds

The program's design requires consistent monthly payments over the full 60-month term to accumulate sufficient funds for strategic settlements with all enrolled creditors.

I am filing a complaint against Countrywide Debt Relief (********************************************) for the following actions by Countrywide Debt Relief (CWDR) against me, *** ********, consumer: 1. **** has been and is currently engaging in business practices that violate California Business and Professions Code #*****, which is defined as a "business practice or act that is deceptive, fraudulent, or causes injury to a consumer." 2. Unfair trade practices involve causing substantial injury (financial) to a consumer for the purpose of turning a profit. In my specific case/circumstance, CWDR deceptively and fraudulently stated to me that their business purpose, their services and my contractual engagement with **** was premised upon my desire and need to create debt resolution (reduction). I did not discuss or contract with **** for legal representation services. From June 2023-July 2024 (12 months), I paid $2,130 to **** for services that I did not personally realize. In effect, CWDR deceived me of $2,130 and I was contractually disposed to lose significantly more if I had not come to the understanding that ****'s business terms and policies are about preying upon people who desire or need debt resolution/reduction, and, in turn, CWDR creates debt enhancement for the consumer while generating ************ fee income at the consumer's expense. In my specific case, I made payments to **** totaling $3,032 over the course of 12 months for debt resolution (reduction) services. Exactly 70% ($2,130) of these payments were retained by **** as service fee income and 30% were used to pay down my debt with a single creditor account (out of the 6 creditor accounts I had enrolled). Additionally, I experienced the following: 1-**** does not send monthly account activity statements, 2-The monthly activity statements use incorrect and misleading descriptors, 3-I did not have communications with a lawyer, 3-**** managed only one creditor account out of the 6 enrolled accounts.

Thank you for your response. I just want to wait a week to see if any further mailings go to that address and also, I need the business' confirmation that they have removed the address (not the name) from their database. Once I have the business' confirmation I will close this complaint as a satisfactory response.
