I signed up for ************ one year ago with an automatic renewal. I received notice on 12/7/2022 that it would renew on 12/13/2022. I followed instructions on their website to cancel service however there was no option on my account to cancel as per their instructions. I sent a written request to their customer service which was ignored. I received an email on 12/12/2022 that the service was renewed (earlier than the provided date in the previous email). I am reporting this company as a scam because I was not able to fairly cancel my account despite multiple attempts.

MACPAW continues to charge my credit card for services I do not use nor need. It does it every year and it is a huge problem to deal with them. I would like to be reimbursed for my most recent charge on 11.01.22 for $34.95. ************

Ordered Clean my mac from macpaw in September. Advertisement was "CleanMyMac X is all-in-one package to awesomize your Mac. It cleans megatons of junk and makes your computer run faster. Just like it did on day one." Since downloading and installing, my mac runs much slower in every program and with many more issues. Tried to contact support on macpaw's website twice. No response either time. Would never again buy anything from macpaw.

I opened an account in July 2020. The company charge me for that account and from what they told me, upgraded their system and opened another account for me and charged me again for a year subscription in august 2020. I then wound up paying for 2 accounts for a year. Then in September of 2021 they opened another account for me and charged me a third yearly rate. This year I noticed the second charge in august and I logged into my account and sure enough my account renewed in July. I emailed MacPaw asking why I was being charge as my account already renewed in July. They told me I had 2 accounts. I told them I have only ever had one account for one computer and I had checked my account online. I was then told that they had updated their system and given a link for another account login. This website showed the other 2 accounts that had been opened in ky name and I had been being charged for. I have repeatedly told the company that this is fraud and they keep telling me that since it is over 30 days they will not refund. I want a refund for both accounts opened on this new system that I did not even have website information or a log in for until I was recently given them. Initially they removed the history of billing from my account but sent the information to my by email when I requested it. I have attached the duplicate invoices. Thank you

Consumer Response /* (2000, 6, 2022/09/30) */ I have now been contacted by MacPaw with an explanation and an apology. Apparently, the delay was a result of the "Ukraine effect", and since MacPaw are Headquartered in Kiev, I have every sympathy with them. In view of the fact that I am now in effective working communication with MacPaw, I wish to withdraw my complaint. Thank you warmly for the service which you provide. I wish that UK would provide something as effective.! Sincerely. *************

This product slowed my MacBook down and hogged memory to the point it would freeze and/or crash. It also couldn't find files that were deeply imbedded into the system as advertised. I also tried canceling this service TWICE before the renewal on my phone (11/29/21 + 01/01/22). I went ahead and tried a 3rd time (05/18/22), I'm very doubtful that will work so I'm disputing the charge with my credit card and marking it as fraud and replacing the card completely so this can't keep happening. Do not do business with this company (product for MacOS), you can find something that won't make your MacBook unusable and your blood pressure won't spike from the nonsense around dishonest billing practices.
