On Monday, January 6, I brought two identical Free People jackets (one green and one black) to get dry cleaned. Each jacket is valued at approximately $150.

I received a ticket and was instructed to pick up the jackets on Friday Upon retrieving the jackets (a day early, on Thursday), I discovered that the down insulation inside both garments had clumped together into large balls, particularly in the sleeves. This rendered the jackets unusable for their intended purpose of providing warmth.

I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the staff. They acknowledged the damage but claimed it was not their fault, stating that they followed the care instructions on the jacket's label. While they offered to waive the cleaning fee, they refused to accept responsibility for the damage and denied my request for compensation.

I reluctantly agreed to allow them to attempt to rectify the issue. However, upon returning to pick up the jackets a second time, I was informed that the damage could not be repaired. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the outcome and requested to speak with a manager.

The manager reiterated they were not responsible for the damage and again declined to offer any compensation for the ruined jackets.

I am now left with two expensive and damaged garments that are no longer functional. This constitutes a significant financial loss of approximately $300.

I request that the business accept responsibility for the damage caused to my Free People jackets. I am seeking a full refund for the value of both jackets, totaling $300.

I believe that this business failed to properly clean my garments, resulting in the damage to the down insulation. I trust that the Better Business Bureau will investigate this matter and assist me in resolving this dispute fairly.

    Thank you.
