    On October 10th, I paid $900 towards my November rent, which I did every month for 4.5 years, with no exception. On October 15th, I was advised that this company had been fired and that I had a new landlord to pay rent to. I contacted the new landlord and explained that I had already paid half my rent to the previous carrier. They assured me that the money would be transferred to the new carrier and that there would be no issue. I followed up several times with the new carrier and was assured repeatedly that the money would transfer. On November 5th, I was given a 30 notice to vacate because my rent had not been paid. Prestige did not transfer my rent - instead, they provided a document that showed I had a balance due of $185.34. I had to pay an extra $185.34 that was not owed in order to avoid being evicted from my home of 4.5 years. In the course of my residency, Prestige stole my property, destroyed by property and refused to do necessary repairs, regardless of the amount of times they were contacted to do so. I threatened to file a complaint with **** of Fair Housing (along with several other tenants) and Prestige was ultimately fired. They added $185.34 to my rent in revenge of being fired for their illegal activity. I want consumers to be aware and VARY wary of using this company or trusting that this company will not rip them off. I was never told I had ANY past due balance. I was never asked for ANY additional money and I was never threatened with any type of eviction for not paying this additional money, even though Prestige says it has been on my account for 2.5 years (since May of 2022).

    Dear ****** ******, 

    We are in receipt of your dispute regarding a balance of $185.34.  We looked at your ledger and saw this charge goes back to 7/29/2022 for an outstanding utility bill.  *********** took it upon ourselves to place a credit for this amount leaving you with a zero balance and $900.00 towards November 2024 rent that was transferred to the owner.  We did suggest that Better Invested Property Management make the same modifications to their ledger to clear this matter.
