On September 7, 2024 I had scheduled an appointment with ******, the Owner, to have my windows tinted at ********* located at ******************************** **************************** at 11:00 AM. I did not sign any forms ahead of time indicating that I would allow my car to be photographed or used in any sort of video. Initially, I was only going to do the basic tint cost of $400 but the stripes I had on my car were in poor condition so I decided to have those removed also. The additional cost was $300. My husband was a witness to all which transpired and recently had his car tinted at this location with the more expensive tint at a cost of $650. In both instances, the owner, ******, states we are to pay in cash or if we use a credit card, we will be charged taxes. We were told the car would be completed between 3 - 4 PM and to come back or check in around that time. I sent him a text message asking at approximately 3:30 PM and he told us to go ahead and return.Through friends, I learned he had taken a video of my vehicle and posted it on his companys Instagram, without my permission, and included are slandering comments indicating Im trying to hide and specifically using my name. He is speaking during the video and the end, he indicates he will be doing a follow up. I have the video, which he has since removed from his Instagram, but included a screenshot as it wont allow me to ******* initial conversation with him was the possibility of doing a wrap due to the paint being off color and the stripe being removed. Nothing was finalized and nothing was paid for, but the only people that knew about this were ******, my husband and myself. He gave me an initial quote of $3400 but to cover the inner areas would be another $1500, all of which I was encouraged to pay in cash. His video was then posted online on TikTok which further violated my privacy and insinuating I had committed a crime which lead to harassment by strangers.Business Response

In response to the complaint that ***** ****** ******* has filed through the Better Business Bureau filed on 09/12/2024, for the services provided at our place of business on September 7th, 2024.For her vehicle to be tinted and additionally requesting for her vinyl stripes to be removed that equaled up to a total cost of $700. That morning, we discussed the type of shade and material going to be used to tint her vehicle and discussed the payment options, we always verbally disclose if you would like to pay cash, or we also have our credit card machine that adds additional service tax and fees to all our customers. ***** opted for the option of paying with cash and was notified it would take longer than projected due to the removal of the stripes being added to the additional appointment and disclosed the vehicle to be ready for pick up anywhere from 3-4pm we would text her to let her know when it was ready. The customer left and came back and was overjoyed with the new look of her vehicle and I did a before and after video as well as pictures of the completed job to showcase on our social media. We have disclosures of the possibility of the vehicles we work on to be showcase on all our platforms of marketing, they are in the work bays and the entrance of our shop. ***** ****** ******* was very satisfied with our quality of work and proceeded to acquire about making a complete color change for the vehicle, unfortunately the color she requested was out of stock and could not place the order. She wanted to leave a $100.00 deposit to save her future appointment to get the vehicle wrapped. We insisted on waiting as we did not have control over the availability of the material and agreed wed be in touch. The following day we received messages from others on social media regarding ***** ****** ******* and her background. I did not acknowledge who the customer was nor disclose personal information. We were unaware of her being a prime suspect in a 14-year-old case involving the disappearance/murder of her child.I am a local business owner; I completed the job Ms. ****** ******* requested and was satisfied with the quality of the work. We are willing to correct anything wrong with the services provided but have no control over what transpired on other social media platforms. We have video footage with audio with ********** in the shop being 100% satisfied, I was never deceitful and was very transparent and equal with her as I am with all my customers. We have also had pictures of the placement of the disclosures for our photography/videography that we use as marketing to promote my work. If you have any questions or need any further information, please feel free to contact me directly for any further proof whether it'd be more text messages, videos or pictures.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I inquired about a tint job on my car as well as stripe removal. They were in the process of wrapping cars both times I visited this business and was curious about it. I asked about the price and process and did offer $100 as goodwill intentions to secure a date if I decided to move forward but he deemed it not necessary. I paid cash because it was the pushed by the owner as the preferred method likely so he doesnt have to report the income. I had to ask for a receipt via text and my husband was never provided with one for his $650 tint job completed a few months prior. My name is NOT ***** ****** ******* and I am NOT the prime suspect in a missing child case.
At no time did the owner indicate he would be filming or taking photos of my car, putting them on social media or for any other personal use. Nor were there any visible signs or mention of any such practice as I would have never inquired about any work being done on my car. It is reckless for the owner to do so. I was alerted by a friend who saw my car online with visceral, slanderous statements made about me which resulted in harassment. The owner should reimburse me for the $700 due to the emotional and physical distress he caused and also provide my husband with a receipt for his car that he paid cash for the ceramic tint.
Sincerely,
***** *******
