Tired, stressed & needing 2 complete a state-mandated form & pay the fee, I think I typed in the name of the form into a search engine, assuming that the state agency would pop up. When the site loaded I assumed it was the CA Secy of State but I was wrong, it was a business called gofilings.com, & they did what they could 2 not tell me I was in the wrong place. The process was so quick & easy I thought the Secy of State had streamlined their process. I had no idea I wasn't on the correct website until the fee amount of $94.00 had been charged 2 my card. I immediately told gofilings.com that I had made a *************** email told me no refunds. Gofilings.com is a scam. They charge $94 for a $25 service & go out of their way 2 make sure customers don't know they're not on the CA Secy of State webpage. Many businesses can absorb the $69 difference between what CA charges & what gofilings.com charge, but my business isn't 1 of them. I ******************** my company's statement of information b4 gofilings.com submitted theres, yet **************************************** insist on charging me. There are predatory businesses who prey on people's assumptions. I assumed that only the Secy of State would have a website offering a statement of information system. I was wrong. **************************************** cheated me out of $69. Small business owners must complete multiple forms. Predatory businesses exist that exploit tiredness, ************************* 2 detail. When you compare the webpages of the CA Secy of State 2 gofilings.com, it's obvious the CA Secy of State website is authentic. But the way web searches present 1 business, & subsequent businesses below, customers don't get a side-by-side comparison. The 1st result of their search, especially when that website offers the document business owners need, is clicked. Gofilings has found a way 2 get their predatory business 2 be the 1st business that pops up when a customer searches as I did. ********************** stole my money.Business Response

If a customer has a legitimate issue, we are here to help and resolve things.
However, this customer's claims are 100% false.
Our service fees are listed clearly in the process. The fact that we are a private service is listed everywhere, and our website is clearly called "Gofilings.com". Further, you cannot place an order with us without first confirming you understand we are a private service, confirming you have read the full Terms which also clearly outline this fact, etc.
If this customer has a legitimate issue, we are here to help. But we can't do anything to address false claims because they are false.

I am rejecting this response because:The *** is mis***resenting what occurred. As soon as I received the bill I notified gofilings.com of my error, an error they facilitated. Copies of my emails to gofilings.com are attached. I had no idea I wasn't on the CA Secretary of State website. Gofilings.com are a predatory business but I can't control how the owners run their business. I dispute their ***resentation.

I am rejecting this response because:The business *** is not telling the truth. I'll never be able to get them to admit they're running a predatory business because they'd be sued. Denial, denial, denial. How they've chosen to make their money is on them. I do what I can to protect myself, and other small business owners by calling out predatory practices. My attachments show I asked within minutes of leaving their website to cancel the order. Instead, they filed a statement of information my business doesn't need. To steal $94.

I used search engine to inquire "what is the cost is to change the registered agent in ******************* for my LLC." A link to gofilings.com popped up and had the appearance of a ********** agency. I opened the page and saw "********** Statement of Information - File Online" with an icon that initiated the filing. I completed the information and continued to a page requesting $94 for the service. I paid and received email confirmation that the payment was received at 12:23 pm by gofilings.com on Feb 16th. After I paid, I realized that this was not the ** Secretary of State website. I did find the Secretary of State website for ********** and filed the appropriate information to make the change myself at no charge, which took a few minutes. I immediately went to the contact page of gofilings.com, which has a contact number stating that phone support is very limited. I therefore emailed the business through their "contact us" platform, stating that I made the change myself, and I requested a refund; I received confirmation that they received my email at 12:39 pm that same day (16 min after the purchase was made) with the response that they would respond in 1 business day. They never responded to date (2/25/23) and have completed the charge as of 2/21/23.Business Response

I requested an immediate refund after realizing that their website was misleading and that I had completed the service on my own without their assistance. They processed my payment without providing any service and without acknowledging my refund request.

I am rejecting this response because:The business refuses to acknowledge the facts surounding my complaint.
Feb 16th 12:23 pm I paid gofilings.com $94 for "change of registered agent" service, while I was erroneously under the impression that their site was the CA Secretary of State website.
Feb 16th 12:25- 12:30 pm I found the CA Secretart of State website and completed the change of registered agent for my business by myself, and without charge, as it is a free filing. I emailed gofiling (they do not take phone calls per their website) to inform them and request a refund.
Feb 16th 12:29 pm -gofiling sent me a confirmation email acknowledging they received my request for a refund and notification that I'd already completed the service myself. Their email reported that they would respond in 1 business day; they did not respond.
Fb 16th 12:30, ********** Secretary of State send me confirmation that my registered agent change was completed - (cut and pasted here)

I am rejecting this response because:1. Your explanation of the service I ordered is not valid. The reason for me to complete the statement of information IS to complete the information for registered agent. This is not a separate service, but you are trying to create confusion by using different terminology.
2. The term and condition of your contract is the following: ************* is non-refundable. Please read the below paragraph CAREFULLY.
Our seller permit/wholesale license/business registration/sales license/wholesale permit registration service is NON REFUNDABLE, and there are NO EXCEPTIONS. This means that if the state office cannot issue the permit, this does not entitle a refund. If there is a duplicate seller permit/wholesale license/business registration/sales license/wholesale permit in the state system, causing a rejection in the filing, this does not entitle a refund. If the state office requests additional info from the client such as an account number, photo ID, etc. , and the client is unwilling or unable to provide this additional information, this does not entitle a refund. If the client has an existing unpaid tax liability, and the state has put the filing on hold, this does not entitle a refund. If the state cannot issue the permit/license, or has put the request on hold for ANY REASON, this does not entitle a refund. Again, our service is STRICTLY the service of filing the request, and it DOES NOT guarantee issuance or delivery."Since I quickly realized that your website intended to confuse and defraud the public, I asked for an immediate refund for service, at that point, NOT COMPLETED, and I requested and received your confirmation of receipt of my request within 15 minutes of my payment. You did not follow the obligation of your company to respond to my inquiry. Your redundant "completion" of my service request did not occur until days after I already completed and requested a refund for the service that I'd already completed.

I filled out a form to be filed with the *******************. I realized very quickly I made an error on an address. I called this business but you cant reach anyone and theres no way to leave a message. I emailed them to please cancel my form as I made an error. All they did was email me pointing out that I agreed to their refund policy and they NEVER offered to amend my form or even ask what they could do to help. It was clear once they had their money they dont want to be bothered. The agent that emailed me was rude, sarcastic and condescending. This so called service is the worst. I give it an F. Ive never seen such lack of even the slightest hint of helping the customer. They clearly dont want to offer any assistance. They get your payment and that is all that matters. Ive since found out this form can be done on the state website and doesnt cost $74!!!
