I started attending **************** a night school student last September 2021. At the time I was living in ********** I had to move counties soon after I started school and since then I've had to endure the time and commute of 70 miles one way to school until 10pm 4 days a week. There's no other resolution for me other than to attend a school closer to home. Upon making this decision I asked my admins at school what would it take to transfer out of the school and told me if I leave I need to pay " the amount of hours I've been granted " in order to get my transcripts. They claimed because they only get my financial aid in portions and will not release my transcripts without paying almost $5000 to the school. I've also asked other student who inquired on the same transfer and had been going to school much longer accumulating more hours and don't have such a high balance like mine. I would've never chose the most expensive cosmetology school if it wasn't covered by my grants and federal loans I took out. All I want to do is continue my education elsewhere and they exclaimed there's no way around their "policy" they failed to bring to my attention when I enrolled and contracted this school. Also the school has failed to uphold the recent law change in cosmetology hours and aren't letting people who were student before this new law took affect , graduate at 1000 hours ,They claim they have to finish the whole curriculum to 1600 hours that's not's technically required by state. This school has failed to inform me of the constant cost of purchasing an excess amount of cosmetology supplies weekly in order to continue my education. I'm almost 500 hours into the program and i and other students can confidently say their lack of ability to educate on a basic hair cut has yet to be performed. Half the time we have no set schedule for classes and some of the time we are told to be prepared for a certain assignment and led to believe we are to bring those supplies
