      I am writing to file a formal complaint against RentSpree regarding a significant credit score discrepancy during my recent application for an apartment through their platform. This issue has led to concerns about the accuracy and fairness of their credit reporting services.On September 9, 2023, I applied for an apartment through RentSpree, a platform that facilitates rental applications and background checks. As part of their application process, RentSpree provided a credit score determination. To my astonishment, the credit score they presented was 40 points lower than my Experian credit score, which currently stands at 595.I acknowledge that variations in credit scores can exist due to differences in scoring models and algorithms among credit reporting agencies. However, a 40-point discrepancy is exceptionally significant and potentially affects my housing prospects adversely.In light of this, I am seeking your assistance in addressing this matter with RentSpree. I believe that it is essential to ensure transparency and accuracy in credit reporting, particularly when it affects individuals' access to housing.I kindly request that the BBB investigate this issue and seek clarification from RentSpree regarding the following:1. The methodology and specific factors used by RentSpree to calculate credit scores.2. The reasons behind the substantial variance between my Experian credit score and the score provided by RentSpree for the same application.3. Any inaccuracies in the data or information that *** have contributed to the lower credit score determination through RentSpree.4. Steps that can be taken to rectify this situation and ensure the accuracy of future credit score determinations through RentSpree.RentSpree should be held accountable for providing an accurate and fair representation of credit scores, especially given their impact on housing opportunities. I trust that the BBB will investigate this matter diligently and facilitate a resolution that ensures fairness and transparency in credit reporting through RentSpree.

      On July 6th, I was required to apply for a potential rental property through RentSpree. It was my understanding that a Credit Score would be returned to the property manager which I check via my app with the ************** I was denied the property because of a ResidentScore which factors other items into the score. We should be comparing apples to apples and I should have the ability to address what are inconsistencies in the Resident Score vs FICO score. I attempted to find out and was told that they use a ResidentScore which factors additional items besides FICO score. I would like a refund of my money since what was supplied to the property manager was not my FICO credit score.

      Request refund.....Submitted application for rental unit incorrect credit score was reported by TransUnion.65 points LOWER than my credit karma score.This can negatively affect my chances of acquiring rental!Request correction and new report and refund!

      March 2023 I submitted a paid $38 Rentspree application to a landlord for a ***********, ** property. Rentspree runs a score they claim they are using the TransUnion credit report. The report generated a low score and was not accurate information. As a result, I was denied the rental. April 2023 I recently paid a credit card to zero balance and my credit scores went up to 686 on Experian, Equifax and TransUnion is 656. I applied for a rental through Rentspree for $38. The report was even lower than the first one after I paid debt off my credit. The Rentspree report has data from over 7 years ago, my account and no current updates. The result was that I was denied the rental, again. I contacted Rentspree to complain. They told me they only use what TransUnion reports. I contacted TransUnion and they sent me my credit report and it was NOT what Rentspree posted in that report. Rentspree did not post updated credit information or credit scores.They need to reimburse the fraudulent charges and posts as well as restitution for the rental property opportunities it cost my family and me and not finding safe housing.

      I had to utilize rentspree.com to submit an application for a new residence. Rentspree provides potential landlords with a made up potential tenant "residence score" calculated by incorrect history, and failure to include pertinent information which caused my residence score to be falsely low. The information on my credit report was incorrect and did not include valid information that would have calculated a higher "residence score". *Current employment of 14+ years was not listed *Current car loan/payment was not listed *Rental payment history was not listed *Current address (2018-present) not listed WEBSITE STATES Full ********************* Get a complete overview of applicants credit histories, including all payment history, trade lines, inquiries, collections, and more.Tenant Background Check Screen prospective tenants with a comprehensive background check that searches over 200 million criminal records.*Not available in **********, ********, ******, ********, *************, ************, Cook County (********), and ******* Rental History Report Access an applicants eviction related proceedings with resources from over 25 million records across all 50 states.Not available in the ******************************* presented incorrect information to a potential landlord and has ruined my chances for this rental opportunity, where the rent was reasonable and was suitable for me and my family.

      On 09/18/2022, I submitted an application to the realtor ******** to rent the property on *******************************************. I made a payment to have them check my credit report from TransUnion.
      The company that runs the check is called TURSS. They are taking the information from TransUnion, they committed a fraud by changing the first part of the report that is stating my credit score with TransUnion that was on the same day they ran the credit check, 802. They replaced my credit score with a different credit score that shows 743, that's a drop of 59 points, just to enable the renting company to charge more money claiming that the score is not what I claimed. As part of the fraud they committed, they claimed the following:

      Too many inquiries. (I don't have too many, To many is above six and I have 5.)
      Insufficient payment activity over the last year. That is incorrect!!! Here is what it reads on my TransUnion:

      On-time payment history
      100%
      0 late payments.

      I always pay the amount I owe in full or 40% of the total amount owed).

      Number of delinquent accounts is too high in proportion to total number of accounts

      They are committing fraud again claiming that I have accounts that I failed to pay for and it's a lot of them.

      I never missed a payment. I only use 3% or less from my total available credit.

      Here is what it reads on TransUnion:

      They are playing a role in making the renting charge more money based on fake information.
      Why would they do that?

      Why would they change the info in the first part of the report and apply everything else correctly?

      That's the question they need to answer.

      I disputed their charge already of the amount of $38.00 with my credit card.

      They should not forge any official docs issued by Credit Agency. That's a clear fraud.
