This Company goes beyond their scope of what is necessary and /or required. When there is a small amount of wood rot on a portion of a deck or soffit , they suggest that the Entire Deck should be replaced ..They also make Unfounded Statements regarding what they have not inspected..They make assumptions and write them in their reports as if it is a fact. These reports also suggest cost of repairs at the highest price?? Who bid this??These reports are filed and then are given to potential buyers of the property. This is libel. This type of ignorance is unacceptable and does harm. This should not be allowed. We only asked for a factual pest inspection. We never requested personal assumptions and over the top costly bids in hopes of obtaining structural work which they are not licensed to do! They would need to have a California State General Contractors license B! We paid ****** to have someone make certain any pests or damage would be rectified. They never offered any treatment! They only wanted to create an overpriced bid of replacement ( not repairs).. Was this done in hope of some Insurance contract ?? Why are they willingly making statements that they think there may be something in a place they did not inspect??Is the sky falling?? I called and asked for the report to be changed to facts not assumptions.I also asked that the ****** in Suggested Repair Costs be redacted as we Never Requested this Service!!. where did they come up with these numbers? They said they cant change it and it was already filed! Filed with Whom?? We never asked them to file anything!!What a Racket!!! I have worked in the *********** Business for over 25 years and have used many Pest Control Companies. I have NEVER experienced anything like this.. How does their Licence to inspect for **** destroying pests and organisms allow them to place a Scarlet Letter on someones property? This can cause a sale of property to fail! This is a dishonest business practice. Thank you.Business Response

Subject: Re: Complaint #******** (83260756)
****************************************,
As a family owned and operated business, with over 40 years operating in the local community, we take all
customer complaints seriously, and are committed to resolving issues promptly and fairly.
We have carefully reviewed your complaint regarding the findings of the Wood Destroying Organism
Inspection performed on 8/19/2024 on the property at ******************* in Angels ********
We must continue to decline your request to remove the legitimate findings from the report as it would be
unethical and illegal for us to do so. Please take the time to review the information gathered in this letter and the accompanying attachments to help better understand what we are required to include in our Wood Destroying Organism inspections and reports.
The inspectors at Foothill-Sierra Pest Control are licensed through the Structural Pest Control Board which is a department within the Department of Consumer Affairs. The Structural Pest Control Board has a Structural Pest control Act which outlines what a Wood Destroying Organism inspection and report is and should contain within it. Also, within the report, on the first five pages before the findings and recommendations for that particular property is a compilation of paragraphs that the Structural Pest Control Act requires each report to contain that explains what the report is and what it is not. All of our inspectors follow these rules and laws for each and every inspection that is performed. The section of the Structural Pest Control Act that explains Wood Destroying Organisms is Article 5, 1990 through 1999.1. I will include a pdf attachment of this section of the Structural Pest Control Act and a blank Wood Destroying Organism report that shows the necessary text that is required in every report for your knowledge and reference. This act requires all inspections to be filed through the Structural Pest Control Board. The Branch III Structural Pest Control Operators license that our company holds allows us to legally perform the structural repairs, treatments, modifications etc. that are recommended in the reports. The prices for our company to perform these recommendations are included in the Work Authorization of the report. The prices are calculated by the time and materials that the inspector estimates are needed for each individual finding. The amount of time and materials to perform recommendations varies widely from property to property. We strive to provide competitive, fair and accurate prices that are reflective of the industry standards at the time of inspection. Performing repairs to an existing structure or deck is always considered first before recommending complete replacement as is the case in finding 3C from this report. If the inspector feels that it would be impractical to repair the deck because of how extensive the damage to it is, then replacement is the recommendation that is given. As with any of the recommendations in the report and as stated in paragraph 8 on page 2; recommendations can vary from company to company and that it is the consumers right to obtain a second opinion.
No assumptions of the existence of wood destroying organisms is made in this report or any of our reports. The findings are all backed up with the fact that wood destroying pests or organisms are present in the areas as described or that a conducive condition is present that could allow them to exist in that area in the future. In some instances the full extent of damage cannot be determined until removal of some of the damaged wood or structural components is made. In this case the damage is noted in the report and the recommendation of further inspection is made to check these hidden areas while recommendations are being performed.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and we are committed to providing excellent customer service.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
*************************

We contracted Foothill-Sierra Pest Control on May 22, 2024, to provide ant and spider pest control on our property. After they left, we discovered they missed about 20-30% of the property and needed to return. They came back on May 30th, 2024. Again, they missed about 5-10% of the property. As I was not happy with the service, I wanted to cancel all future services (the next one is due in 3-4 months). However, because we wanted to cancel, they charged us a cancellation fee of $125 (even though when I spoke to them on the phone, they said they would not charge us). They refuse to refund the fees even though they have not fully completed the service.Within their contract, they state, " Fulfillment of this agreement requires that all services be complete"as not all services were complete, they are not legally allowed to charge us.They are now charging us without consent.Business Response
