    Our ** oven double oven (Model JKD5000SN1SS) has an electronic circuit board/display that normally shows the time and the status of the oven use. Suddenly ON July 16th, 2024, the screen went blank except for two horseshoes on the display.We called ** Appliance Repair who provided the names of three local authorized repair companies. One of these was First Call Appliance Repair.We contacted Fist Call Appliance Repair who sent **** to assess what repairs were needed on 7/19/2024. After a five-minute (or less) inspection, **** informed ****** that the circuit board/display was shot and that it would cost $520 to replace it, plus installation, plus the cost of the service call. ****** advised him to proceed. He was informed that the new circuit board/display would take 3 weeks to obtain.Subsequently, on 7/21/2024, we discovered that the ** oven was not broken. Accidentally, it had been placed in Sabbath mode. Simply pressing bake. broil, and settings, restored the ** oven to normal use. **** should have known how to do this.**** was trying to scam us. He has not succeeded. We will not pay for his visit. We will inform the better business bureau.
