I dropped off my vehicle early December 2024 for a motor install to **** ****** at RPM speed center. I was quoted $1500 labor to have the motor installed and anything associated with it to have it installed properly (specifically redoing wiring also). I was told the car would be done sometime early in the new year. There were somethings along the way that was needed and discussed /agreed upon needing to done like the fuel system, an air intake, the cooling fans, and some other minor modifications to get everything operating correctly. Everything was okay until about march when the car still wasnt finished and not a lot of progress. 2 months of asking for updates and questioning was needs to be done and still no progress i decided to remove my vehicle from the shop. In this time i already paid $3400 for parts and labor which is close to the ball park of everything we needed to get the job done. Before pick up and throughout the entire time the car was there I asked for a breakdown/write up of everything I gave him 6 days in advance to have this prepared and didnt get anything until about 30 minutes before pick up. I also said I want to make sure the vehicle started before pick up and was given an excuse. On pick up he requested an additional $3500. I instantly pointed out some things that were easily seen I was being over charged for and he dropped the price $1000 which put us at a total of $5900. That night I had time to create my own breakdown of everything we kept track off and was able to calculate I was overcharged close to $1100 in good faith of being fair to both parties. But at the end of the day the job was not complete and I feel nothing additional should have been needed to pay at time of pick up. I now have to pay another shop to basically redo the entire job because he is not providing any real information on what has and hasnt been done on the car. The resolution Id like is be accommodated for for what I paid him and what the new shop will charge
