On May 1, 2022, ***** the employee is stating that I became verbally abusive to her after being told that I could not receive a temporary code to the gate so I may access my boat. There was no altercation, and nothing else was communicated after she said no. After then, I received a notification of termination that I am no longer able to keep my boat at the marina and had to have everything out by 6/4/22. I have attached the email and letter received. The noted in the email stating that my key fob was trying to access other different docks, and that is because the mechanic that I used was working on several other boats at this marina, so he had several other fobs to access the other boats. I was not the only one using this mechanic. I also paid 3 months without even having a boat in the slip and I would like to be reimbursed because they had someone else using it and I had to wait until they move that other boat out before I could use it again. I have worked with the public for over 40 years as a city bus driver and have received several awards for my outstanding service. I have been a care provider for a disabled person for 20 years, and also work on the side for a limo service. They have nothing to validate what this woman is saying, and I have never been cited before this instance. They should not be able to terminate me without any due process.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/16/2022

This is my response to the complaint ID #******** by ***********************:

In the "Lease termination letter" attached, I explained the reasons for ****************** lease termination.

It all started with concerns and complaints from tenants on his dock regarding suspicious activity on his boat.

Our first concern was the safety and security of ****************** boat as well as the other tenants on the dock.

After speaking to **************, I discovered that he had given his key fobs to his mechanic.

His mechanic (who was not an authorized vendor) was coming and going at all hours of the day and night.

This is a violation of our rules and regulations.

In the meantime, ************** had come to the marina several times asking for a temporary access code.

We gave him an access code and asked him to bring his key fob when he comes to the marina.

This continued for about 2 months at which time we decided that we were no longer giving access codes to any tenant because of security issues.

I asked ************** to get his key fobs back from his mechanic and that he could no longer get temporary access codes.

He came to the office the following Sunday and asked for an access code again.

***** explained to him that he could not get one.

That is when he got very angry and yelled at her.

I was not in the office to witness the incident but ***** was so upset that she called me at home to tell me what happened.

When I returned to work I asked her to write an incident report (which is attached)

Please also note in the attached signed lease agreement, the highlighted portions which explain the terms regarding "Complaints with Rules and Regulations" and "Term/Termination"

Regarding a refund for slip rent, I'm not sure what **************** is asking for.

As far as we know, ******************** boat was in the slip until his move out date.

We were never informed that the boat was out of the slip before his final date 6/4/22 and **************** never told ** that his boat was out early.

If he had told us the boat was out early, we would have refunded him for those days after we checked the slip to be sure it was empty.

I apologize for the late response, but this email was in our junk file.

Please let me know if you need any other information or if there are any other instructions.

    Thank you for your assistance.
