      I purchased the Shapeoko 5 pro and I love it!! I've never used a CNC machine before (Total newbie!) I made so many mistakes and couldn't get a project going. When I reached out to Carbide support they we're quick to respond. I thought that there may be something wrong with the machine and they went through multiple possible fixes. It turns out that is was all my doing. Support was outstanding!! They were patient, polite and very helpful. I was literally getting support and responses to my emails within minutes and at 9pm at night.I have to say that I am so happy that I chose Shapeoko for my **************

      This company will not speak to you in person for any issues or concerns you may have. You can sign up for an appointment by email, yet when you do get to speak to someone, they can not advise you on how to operate the machine. They treat you as if you should have already taken courses on advanced *** operation, but advertise their product for beginning hobbyists and small businesses. Past that, their equipment itself is under par. I ordered the Shapeoko Pro XXL, and it arrived late with a broken part. As per other negative reviews, they stated the replacement part would be overnighted, but took three days to arrive. The *** router that I purchased from them for the machine did not run smoothly straight from the box. The speed levels ramped up and down instead of staying constant, and the motor made high-pitched noises. This is before making contact with the material. It continued to worsen, and eventually smoke came out of the router. By email, because customer service will not contact you by phone so that you can have a Q&A with them, they replaced the router by warranty. That took two weeks to arrive, longer than stated again. Once it was installed, it too did not run smoothly from the box. I went out and purchased another manufacturer's router (which looks the same) and it operates as it should. I ordered the spindle the company offered (before the aftermarket router), and they charged me right away, yet 4 weeks later, I have yet to receive the spindle. I still not get anyone at the company to speak with me. Online forums are full of complaints about this company, and I feel I have been taken advantage of being a hobbyist / small business individual. There appears to be no recourse for their behavior, and I cannot afford legal action. So now I am out over $5000 and a year wasted in the attempt to start a *** small business.
