    Sanchez Family **** Service was referred to me by our annual forest restoration maintenance company, *****'s **** of Life. I spoke with ******** on the phone the week of 10/9 and told him I didn't know if the roads to Camp ****** would be open to even drive-up the mountain to view and estimate the job, as they have been shutdown from 10/9-10/19 for cal trans to restore the roads from previous flood damage. The next thing I know, my office manager is contacted on 10/20 by ******** stating that Sanchez Family **** Service has felled and bucked 6 sugarpine trees and promptly called and demanded payment. His charge for felling and bucking 6 trees and trimming back a limb was $18,000.00. The trees heights were between ******* feet, with only one tree being 150 feet tall. I spoke to ******** Sanchez regarding his exorbitant fee for a service that I have paid no more than $6,000.00 to fell 4 sugarpines over 200 ft. He refused to lower his price, stating he gave me a good "deal". The trees he felled were NOT removed, meaning stumps and roots included, as his price suggests. He simply chopped the trees down, bucked them into smaller sections and left the job site without even cleaning-up his mess. He was on-site for a total of 4 hrs. I have explained to ******** that I am willing to pay a fair price for services rendered, especially considering I was not given an estimate nor was I notified that work would be performed when it was. ******** has requested the payment be made to "***** Sanchez" and not the business which raises a huge red flag. I received a phone call from ***** on Sunday, 10/22 where he expressed his disgust with the *************************** was charging and agreed that Sanchez Family **** Experts were clearly trying to take advantage of a customer. We are a construction/finance company. We have built over **** homes over the past 40 years. We deal with subcontractors on a daily basis and are very familiar with proper procedures. This is predatory at best
