On October 22nd, 2024, I was at home in my office and walked to the kitchen area. I noticed an unknown man speaking to my wife outside in the backyard. I could hear him explaining to her options to replace the roof of our home. I told the salesman in no uncertain terms, We do not need a new roof. You are not going to put a new roof on the house. He looked at me, said nothing, then continued to speak to my wife. The salesman spoke to my wife for approximately two hours and left. I thought nothing of it. On October 24th 2024, I left my home in the early morning and returned in the early afternoon. As I drove up to my home, I saw that all of the roof tiles had been removed. I was shocked and confused. I went inside and asked my wife to explain what happened. She gave an incoherent statement to me that didnt explain what had happened. I saw a contract on the table from Totally green Builders. I opened it and saw that without my knowledge, the salesman was able to convince my wife to sign a contract to replace our roof that didnt need replacing. On the contract, the salesman wrote, install 3000 square feet of new shingles. My home is only 1391 square feet. He charged $38,000 for the job which is completely ridiculous. My son recently replaced the roof on his 1900 square foot home in ******** which cost him $14,570. It is clear my wife was objectively in no condition to make any financial decisions at the time the salesman from Totally Green Builders contacted her. The salesman and the company took advantage of her as an elderly person and a person who is mentally ill. We are on a fixed income and paying anywhere near $38,000 is very challenging. I am asking for mediation in payment and that this company gets penalized for their predatory, likely illegal, and un-ethical practices so that they cannot victimize any more elderly people.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: We are willing to pay a fair price for the work that was done. We are willing to pay the amount of $18,400 plus the price for the permits. This amount comes from an independent other company quote which we have. The amount charged by the company was ****** which is a ridiculous amount. This company preyed upon my mother who was acutely mentally ill at the time and in no condition to make any financial decisions. My father told the salesman he did not want or need a new roof for their home. The salesman ignored my father and convinced my mom to sign a contract without my fathers knowledge. The size of their home is only about 1400 square feet but they charged for a 3000 square foot house.
Sincerely,

I had Totally Green Builders put a new roof on back in February. They completed in April of this year. I've called them serval times and sent them pictures of the questions I had on the work they did and that their crew left a pile of debris on my patio roof that needs to be cleaned up. They've returned my call a few days later and told me they would be sending someone out. No one has showed up nor have I been called back, which I've left serval messages along with pictures of all my concerns. I've reviewed a lot of post on them which were very negative about them following up with you after the job was done. I've sent both the ****** and son ******************** ***** is the ****** ******************** is the son **************. they are not standing behind their commitment for any warranty work or follow up on the job. I need someone to look into this business and see what's going on not only for myself but other clients that are having the same problem. Sincerely ***************************.Business Response

My home remodel started 4/24/23 for $131,000. It started well but then I had to continually ask them to complete certain tasks. I had to ask for the trash removal and as we went along I had to keep calling them back to make repairs to the work performed. I was always calling or texting them to come and look at the shotty workmanship from who they sent. In preparation for a sliding glass door installation they removed my outside patio light, they said after the city inspection they would reinstall the light. Well it's been months and I'm texting them on a weekly basis to send the electrician to install the light, right now it's just a hole and exposed wiring. They keep telling me the electrician is out of the country. Oh! They'll send someone in two days and no one comes. I was responsible in paying them the price they quoted and they should be responsible enough to finish their job. On our last text they just said good luck. That is not right and I should get everything my money paid for. Am I supposed to hire another electrician to finish their job, when I already paid them. I need my outside light installed.Business Response

I would like to know if BBB would help resolve this issue regarding TotallyGreenBuilders, and me, so that they would allow me to make payments to them, as they initially said that I could do, instead of continuing to keep pushing me into a loan. Which would put me into deeper debt, when I'm in a hardship situation.Business Response

We apologize for the late response. We settled with this client. She paid us the full amount for the job which has been completed.
