    This company raises monthly fees without notification. Charges fees that excessive and predatory in nature. There goal is not to work with you but eventually through fees and unwillingness to work with customers, sell there things. ********, ******, and **** are the worst!

    Re: Raises monthly Fees without notification

    We have a Rental Agreement which requires we notify tenants of rent increases via first class mail at least 30 days in advance. **. *******'s last rent increase was effective March 1st, 2022. A letter was sent to to him on January 28th, 2022 regarding this change. We have a copy of the letter if **. ******* would like to view it as we do every letter that we send out. Unfortunately **. *******'s address on file seems to be out of date. If he did not receive it, it may be due to him not providing his current address.

    Re: Fees that are aggressive or predatory in nature

    The fees and charges applied are according to The California Self Storage Act - Business and Professions Code Sections **********. There are monthly late fees calculated according specifically to the provisions in the law, and there are other fees during the lien process that are demonstrably less than our competitors and which we also list on our Rental Agreement so that the tenant is informed.

    Re: The goal is not to work with you but to sell your things

    There is a mistaken perception that operators somehow benefit from auctions, when it is very much not the case. The amount someone is willing to pay for the items very very rarely covers the cost of what is owed on a unit and anything received that's above the amount owed on the unit is returned to the tenant by law. The only benefit of auctions is to get possession back of the unit and hopefully rent it to someone who will pay. The issue with **. ******* is that he is very aware of when fees apply, but when he receives a late fee he becomes irate, verbally abusive to the staff (which we have recorded), and makes inaccurate accusations like the ones he's made here. I have tried to call **. *******, but his number does not receive incoming phone calls, so it's actually quite hard to work with someone who won't answer my call.

    I make deals with auction customers all the time. I'd be happy to work out a deal with him to move his items out. I have not attached anything at this time, but I will provide whatever is legally possible to clear this complaint, we just have to be concerned about providing private customer info, so I will check with our attorney if this escalates.
