    This is a new dentist to me and after my initial exam, the dentist recommended I have a deep cleaning. Having not had a cleaning for some time I moved forward and got the treatment. About 4 or so months later I got a call to schedule my cleaning so since it was new year figured it was time. I had the regular cleaning and now I’m receiving a bill for the cleaning. I called the office because this should have been covered and am told that if you have a deep cleaning you have to go through multiple “cleaning treatments” before you are “approved” for a regular cleaning. I was never told this and to the contrary was told before the deep cleaning it was a 1 time service and charge, which I agreed to, and I could resume my normal cleaning schedule, which is what I essentially had as there was nothing out the norm conducted during that cleaning. I challenged the charge to no avail. There was no communication of any out of pocket charges I would incur before or even after I had the cleaning and it should have been covered as my standard cleaning. I want the charge waived.

    After reading and reviewing you dental history, I see that you do have a balance on your acct. I understand your frustrations. I see that we could have done better in communicating and this will be address for future improvements in our customer service. 

    Due to your dental health need. We have to bill accordingly with proper codes for your maintenance hygiene visit as required by the ADA.

    As for your balance on the account. This balance stems from your annual deductible. Regardless of the type of Hygiene visit your deductible would still apply.

    I did not get the notification indicating there was a response.  How do I reopen this request as the dentist did not address my concerns.
